Well said. While in other books I didn't mind the new characters but here it felt like they're not well developed. One moment they're introduced and the next they're doing some major changes in the storyline... I mean they felt too young to me. .

I have few started where I need some company to move ahead. If you are okay to read first book in one of them and see if you like them to go on then
1) Broken Earth
2) Books of the Raksura
3) Queen's Thief
4) Charlie Parker
And if you want to start something new then
1) Murderbot
2) Sevenwater
3) Daevabad Trilogy
4) An Amber in the Ashes
5) Genghis: Birth of an Empire

I was eyeing "Books of the Raksura" from a long time... And looks like you have already read the first in the series... Let me check it out.. will let you know once I finish the first book :)
Cloud Road was fantastic. At least i liked it a lot. Hope you have good time with it too. Will look for your review. :)

I started the next book Cibola Burn.
Going through a reading slump after reading The Nickel Boys. God it was so boring and dry... i felt like sinking. It didnt have any emotions, just stating the story in facts kind of thing..
Hope your reading is going well.
Cool. Am around chapter 20. I was happy to see Bobbie in prologue but then quickly realized that people in prologue hardly ever appear in book. :(
This too goes on the same line as previous books, new people and new places with exception of Holden & his crew..
I haven't read anything by Nickel Boys author but because of his first book this one garnered a lot of attention at the time of release... Have you read railroad network?

I am around 25%. This time the story is good actually better than the last book...Atleast the plot does not look like Missing girl/ Revenge.
I like the touch of Politics, civil unrest and scientific study blended together....

Hope you are doing good... We never got to discuss Cibola Burn
And The Cloud Roads.
Planning to read next book Nemesis Games this weekend. Will you be able to start?
We can also start next book of Raksura after Expanse i guess... what do you say ?
Sorry missed this. :(
Yes and yes. I will start Nemesis by Saturday or Sunday. :)
I don't remember many details about Cloud Roads now, it's been two years. Hoping my memory will revive itself when I start reading second book. And that's the reason that nowdays I read the series back to back. Waiting patiently for author to complete a series so I can read them without a year or years between them.

As far as Cibola Burn, i liked it better than the previous book. I loved this new planet which was different. Otherwise I missed the banter that usually takes place between some or the characters in every book.
How did you like it?
I have started Nemesis Games.
Looks like there are no new characters. Only the 4 main crew from Roci. And Bobbie & Avasarala are there too but without any POV's.
Well see how it goes.... What theme is it here!...
I too liked it better than previous book. Naomi abducted, i thought Holden would leave everything to rescue her but sanity prevailed. 🙊 loved the side characters too.
Yet to start Nemesis Game, started Serpent Sea. Things are slowly coming back to me now. First chapter went above my head. Had to reread it.

It happens when you catch up with a series after a long time. And it is easier to read series together...
I am planning to continue with Cress of Lunar Chronicles soon and I don't remember the storylines. Only good thing is they are kind of stand alone but interconnected....

RIght now it is Amos, Alex and Naomi dealing with their past lives. And Holden is going to get us on to next adventure which is still at initial step. Hope all 4 will be on it or else I will miss their banter... :)

I am around chapter 12 in Nemesis Game and what is it? Why is everyone tracing back to their life before Canterbury? And Naomi has a kid? it was the most shocking moment so far. But whatever the reason I am enjoying this, getting to know these from inside out. Have always seen them through Holden's eyes. So this is a treat and I am digging it!

In chapter 13 of Serpent Sea and I am so glad that I am reading these two books simultaneously. It's rare to hit the jackpot with two books together.
Why do poor Colony has to suffer so much? :'(

I finished Serpent Sea!! Couldn't stop reading after a certain point. Lets discuss as you read.
Will resume Nemesis Game now.
Will resume Nemesis Game now.

I am around 50% for Nemesis Game.... Its picking up speed and its much better than its predecessors. I am liking it very much....
I will start Cress, may be June 1st week. But will dump the book if it gets too boring or maybe dump the series completely. Life is too short for uninteresting books. 😒
Also I am reading GOT 3 from a month. 3 chapters a day 😜 helps to finish GOT series 😉
I loved Nemesis Game and one of the biggest reason for it was the PoV of Naomi, Alex, and Amos. I know they had secrets in their pasts from whatever little they had shared in previous books but I was not expecting these skeletons, especially Naomi.
I loved how it was all executed. Prior to this book, it was always Holden facing dangers and his crew behind him for better or worse. Him making the decisions to keep them together, and I am glad that when the time came these three too picked others over themselves.
I am very much eager to see what will come next. Next book better be good because this was a roller-coaster ride.

When are we starting next book? can we do it in second week of June? I have few BRs starting in first week..

I am currently reading The Serpent Sea. And crossed 50%. It is really picking pace. Lets see how it goes...
And yes we can read next book around June 2nd week and also Raksura book around the same time :)
I liked how the new journey started in Serpent Sea. Coming home to the realization that the vital thing for survival has been stolen. Trials never ends for this clan. :(

Great world building from author. Also I liked the way she is bringing out the personalities of other Raksuran people....

How are you?
I am planning to start Babylon's Ashes today and will go for The Siren Depths after that.
Will you be able to start it?
hey there!
am good. how are you doing?
scratched off a tome from my current read shelf yesterday. So I think I can make room for Babylon's Ashes. Will be a bit slow as there is another tome that I am currently reading.

It will take some time to get into the plot as it looks like immediate continuation of its predecessor.

It was a slow torture till now.. its picking up now.
It took me a week to complete 23 chapters...
How is it going for u?
I am in chapter 9 and yup, its boring; specially after the high of Nemesis Game. and it will pick around or after chapter 23 is not motivating either. sigh.

And nothing has happened. All are talking and talking and talking.
Nothing interesting.
Except (view spoiler) which is hard to believe.
Other than that I don't even understand why was this book even written!!
Sorry still in slump :'(
read two short books and did not give them the attention that they deserved. :/

Try something light or even non fiction... This time non fiction helped me to come out of my slump...

I know its been a long time. I have finally made up my mind to finish this series.
Planning to start Persepolis Rising this weekend. Any plans on you starting this one?
