To be fair, it wouldn't count, because the song is actually called "The Cell Block Tango." {end pedantic nerd}

message 54: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 73 comments Betty by Tiffany McDaniel

Betty by Taylor Swift (new folklore album)

message 55: by Darci (new)

Darci Day | 164 comments I've been wanting to read Alice, and I figured there has to be a song with the name. Turns out Avril Lavigne came out with one AND it was vaguely Alice in Wonderland themed.

I have just finished this book. It's really good, but gets really dark. I wish it had come with trigger warnings.
But it's still a great read.

Ugh, why didn't I think of this! Betty is my favorite song on the album, and that book has been sitting on my shelf for ages! Thanks!

Its such a good book. I read it when I found it on the shelf of a place where I was staying on holiday, and didn't leave the house for a day and a half until I'd finished it!

message 60: by Jenni (new)

Jenni (jennigray) | 29 comments Station Eleven is in the listopia, but I can't for the life of me find a song of that name! But I really want to use that book for this prompt.

LOL I never even heard of that song! I'm showing my age, thinking of songs from the 70s :-)

And, speaking of 70s, Neil Young has a song titled "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" so that works perfectly for Only Love Can Break Your Heart.

And in the 90s, long before Taylor Swift sang about Betty, Helmet was singing about Betty (although, in their case, their album was called "Betty" and the song that mentions Betty was titled "The Silver Hawaiian").

message 64: by Heather (new)

Heather (heatherbowman) | 903 comments I might have stretched this prompt a little so I could fit more Agatha Christie books into my challenge. I'm reading one a month and there aren't enough categories they fit into easily. In the book, Mrs. McGinty's Dead is described as a children's singsong or rhyming game sort of like Red Rover, but darker.

message 65: by Jenna (new)

Jenna Wernikowski | 4 comments Betty by Tiffany McDaniel and Betty by Taylor Swift!

message 66: by Heather L (new)

Heather L (wordtrix) | 780 comments Reading All Through the Night by Mary Higgins Clark for this one. There are multiple songs with this title. The Cyndi Lauper song was what immediately came to mind, but it’s also a traditional Welsh carol.

message 67: by Lilith (new)

Lilith (lilithp) | 1073 comments Nowhere to Run by Mary Jane Clark works, and now I'm hearing Martha and the Vandellas in my head.... which is rather good, actually.

message 68: by Erin (new)

Erin (ionicbondie) Layla by Colleen Hoover is also the title of a song by Eric Clapton. And both are awesome

message 69: by Gwen (new)

Gwen Cummings | 1 comments I'm reading Layla by Colleen Hoover!

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 1301 comments In 2020 Bob Dylan released a song called I contain multittudes. Around that time my husband was reading the book by Ed Yong. So I think of the book when I hear the song. Probably gonna read that :)

Theresa | 2377 comments A Natural Woman: A Memoir by Carole King - I can't even think of the title without singing the song! Excellent memoir...pretty sure I gave it at least 4 stars, possibly 5.

And if you don't own it already, you will stream her album Tapestry while reading it.

Christine | 9 comments I’m reading The One Plus One Jojo Moyes/Beyoncé at the moment so will probably use this x

message 82: by Blaise (new)

Blaise Stone | 2 comments I have two books with 'Born To Run' as the title. Bruce Springsteen's autobiography and Born To Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World has never seen. I figure, I can choose which fits my mood when I get to this prompt in my reading.

Debbie (dprovost) | 11 comments I am probably using Midnight Sun for this prompt, but it would also work for the oxymoron prompt.

message 85: by Christy (new)

Christy Baker I am reading the classic book Rebecca and it was also turned into a play with the song a Rebecca.

message 86: by Vanessa (new)

message 88: by Meagan (new)

Meagan | 44 comments I'm going to read The Wild Ones by Nafiza Azad. The song is by Flo Rida and ft. Sia. I'm also thinking of using this to satisfy the prompt of reading a book by a Muslim author. The synopsis is perfection. I got emotional just reading it. This is one of my most anticipated releases of the year!

Jennifer W | 1824 comments Blaise wrote: "I have two books with 'Born To Run' as the title. Bruce Springsteen's autobiography"

If you're an audiobook person, I recommend the audio version, Bruce narrates it, and I might have to relisten to it just for that. In some ways, it's kind of a "boring" book; if you're expecting sex, drugs and rock and roll, you're only going to get one of those. But it made me love Bruce even more!

message 90: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Millard | 11 comments I read a YA called Instant Karma it is a fun stand alone summer ya romance. It is from the same author who wrote the cinder series and the renegade series

message 91: by John (new)

John Warner (jwarner6comcastnet) Almost every Ian Fleming novel which became a James Bond movie is highlighted by a song that is the same as the book title. For example:

Goldfinger
Diamonds Are Forever
You Only Live Twice

message 92: by Niharika (new)

Niharika (niharikasharma) | 1 comments I'm reading "sometimes I lie" by Alice Feeney for this prompt.

message 93: by Jennifer W (new)

Jennifer W | 1824 comments I was just thinking about the James Bond books. :)

Sometimes I think my books slap me in the face related to prompts. I was just looking at my shelves and saw a book that belongs to my partner that he highly recommended I try, Fire and Rain: The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, James Taylor, CSNY, and the Lost Story of 1970.

message 97: by Kayla (new)

Kayla I chose An American Tragedy, it's the name of an album (not a song), but I needed to fit it somewhere.
