Christine Feehan's Dark Series has a family tree at the beginning of each book.

If you like vampires romances and humor and action, I'd recommend The Argeneau Series by Lyndsay Sands. There are about 30ish books, and many of them have the Argeneau family tree in the inside cover. https://www.goodreads.com/series/4068...
If Sons The Heirs by Lorene Carey has a family tree that is essential to the complicated plot. It's an amazing book about slave lineage and complicated family lines.
Melissa wrote: "The Incryptid series by Seanan Mcguire has a family tree in the front of each book. Series starts with Discount Armageddon."Thanks for this reminder, that series is on my 2021 TBR anyway. Can’t wait to dive in.
I'm reading through A Song of Fire and Ice series, and they all fit this prompt. I'm on A Storm of Swords.
Wow, just the blurb for Homegoing is so chilling. This one got lost in my TBR and I'm glad I found it with this prompt.
Would
work for this? It discusses the Sackville-Baggins family tree but I don’t think it has a visual.
@Sarina the edition published by HMH is the one I have. It has all three volumes of LoTR combined in one book. it includes extensive family trees. So personally I would say it counts since family trees exist for this series even though they may not be included in your edition. But I will say I am always stretching the prompts. I'm not strict at all. so it all depends on how you feel about it.
Sarina wrote: "Would

You may know this, but just in case, The Lord of the Rings is a single novel that was split into three parts for publication, so you will want to read all three volumes.

I probably won't be interpreting it that way as it doesn't say an image of a family tree. I use audiobooks a lot because I sometimes have trouble reading, so I'm just using it as per the prompt, any book with a family tree in it in some way.

Honestly I don’t think I need to read all three books for a single prompt! 😂
Does anyone know if the Julia Quinn series, Bridgerton, The Duke and I has a family tree in the book? There is one on the author's website, but i don't know if it's in a book.
Cheryl, I just looked @ the Kindle version and it doesn’t- I would assume but can’t say for sure the print version doesn’t either.
Thanks, Mariah. I've been listening to the series and haven't been able to get my hands on a physical copy.
This is completely off topic, sorry, but her dedications are hilarious-her husband is an infectious disease doctor and she dedicates her books to him. My favorite “And, for Paul, even though the closest you’d ever find to a romance in his field is a lecture called “The Kiss of Death.” Her husband also has climbed Everest twice. Super cool couple. (He’s my doctor, I’m biased).

Listopia: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1..."
Reading Homegoing now and it does have a family tree!
I looked through my books last night and these had family tree diagrams in them! My Sister the Moon
Brother Wind
I'm sure the first book in this series, Mother Earth Father Sky probably also has a family tree but I don't have that one right now.
I saw Commonwealth on Popsugar's list for this prompt, but I am having trouble finding a family tree in it. Does anyone know if there really is one in the book? I haven't started it yet so it was a quick skim, but didn't see anything. Maybe only a certain version does?
Elizabeth wrote: "I saw Commonwealth on Popsugar's list for this prompt, but I am having trouble finding a family tree in it. Does anyone know if there really is one in the book? If you want nonfiction books that contain family tree diagrams, then check out these fascinating horse books. Many nonfiction books on thoroughbreds contain a family tree of the horses pedigree. These books do:
I have read the hardcover editions in both cases..
I'm using the Metro book for the Artist category.
I'm not sure about Julia Quinn's books, but for a different historical option, Sabrina Jefferies's Project Duchess has a family tree.
Erica wrote: "Legendborn has one at the end of the book for a reason."It does? My copy doesn’t have one. Are you lookin at the hardcover? :)
I chose The Princess Game: A Reimagining of Sleeping Beauty for another challenge. This had a family tree and a map.
I think I am cheating a little with this one, but I'm going for A Brief History of Everyone Who Ever Lived: The Stories in Our Genes by Adam Rutherford which has a family tree type thing on the cover
Cheryl wrote: "I didn't see a family tree in Legendborn either."There was a table of the lineages at the end, I wouldn't personally call it a family tree but I can see why someone might use it. I read the UK ebook edition.
Surprise! I started reading Hild by Nicola Griffith last week and found a family tree! Bonus for me -- I thought I would not be able to use this book for Popsugar.
On the premade lists, I mentioned the missing family tree on Legendborn and Nadine said some may be including any book that has a family in it. So. I am going to use the Bridgerton series after all.
My first completed challenge of the year is this one! I read Brown Girl Dreaming which includes Woodson's family tree at the beginning.
Are people only counting literal family trees here (like the family tree is pictured in the book), or are people opening it up more? I'm reading Middlesex right now, which describes a family tree in words, and also I had to literally draw one to keep track of what was going on haha.
I haven't picked the book I'm actually going to read for this prompt but when I read Kindred: A Graphic Novel Adaptation it had a literal picture of a family tree in it. I used this book for a Novel in a Different Format than Normal option.I'm kinda hoping I just come across a book that I already plan on reading having a family tree in it...we'll see.

I probably..." I am also not looking for a book with an image of a family tree and more of a book that goes across many generations and families within family - so I may use Pachinko for it which I am not sure has an image but you can draw a family tree (and some people have made it). Sometimes I find books later that fit the prompt better so if I find one that has a family tree drawn inside I may switch but won't stress about it. So far all I saw recommended I either read already or have zero interest in reading but the year is young.
Sarah wrote: "Are people only counting literal family trees here (like the family tree is pictured in the book), or are people opening it up more?"Yes, I'm interpreting the prompt as a literal picture of a family tree. But I think drawing a family tree yourself is a clever interpretation of the prompt. I'm all about making prompts work for you!
I’m going to try Dark Fire. It’s the second book in the series and I haven’t read the first one but I’m hoping it won’t matter too much.
I’m currently reading Game of Queens: The Women Who Made Sixteenth Century Europe by Sarah Gristwood, which has numerous family trees. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
I'm currently Reading The Mountains Sing which was on my TBR list and happily has a family tree in the beginning. Gorgeous writing so far, set in Vietnam in two timeframes.
For light reading, the Bridgerton books by Julia Quinn, have family trees in the beginning. At least #5, 6, and 7 did, which is where I started the series.
Ellie wrote: "Melissa wrote: "The Incryptid series by Seanan Mcguire has a family tree in the front of each book. Series starts with Discount Armageddon."Thanks for the tip
I was going to do Mexican Gothic. There isn't a picture of a family tree, but the book goes on and on about the lineage and who married who and who had who's kids and specifically mentions their "Family Tree".
I used The Cooking Gene: A Journey Through African American Culinary History in the Old South by Michael W. Twitty. This book has a huge family tree in it.
