Cynda | 5188 comments I have bought my copy of Dracula. I am ready whenever everyone else is. Will we have an official buddy read?

Lori Keeton | 1496 comments Irphen, I loved reading Sleepy Hollow with my boys when they were little and we homeschooled for 2 years. It was fantastic with boys in the 3rd ad 6th grades! I would love to read it again! Glad you liked it too!

I've been feeling like re-reading Dracula for a while and would synchronise if it were not for my current challenge: an admirable attempt to complete all half-read novels I have on-the-go!

Happy to see you're joining us, Cynda :)

I think our last plan was to start about now. I'm still waiting for my new copy, as I had to reorder. But I could also just reread my mom's copy again. So I'm ready to start any time from monday. I think Liesl has already finished ...

I'm all for a buddy read thread.

Wow, that is an admirable attempt! All the good luck, Sid_rw.
So far our buddy reading plans have started rather chaotic and unsynchronised - so I'm guessing you could still join in later on ...

Thanks, Lily, I'll definitely keep an eye on them - meantime, two down, seven to go on my challenge!

Liesl, have you been liking Dracula so far?..."

That is a shame... and so frustrating as it always throws out well laid plans. I finished Dracula and look forward to chatting about it. I really enjoyed it. My son decided he wanted to read it so has taken my copy. I can go grab it when we start chatting.

Cynda | 5188 comments Thanks ladies for responding. I will go now to buddy read requests to see if others are interested and to figure out a good start date. Hope to see you there!

Lilly | 447 comments Thank you, Cynda :)

Irphen, how is it going for you? Do you think you'll also be ready to start next week or soon?

message 60: by Irphen (new)

Irphen | 389 comments Lilly and Cynda: sorry for the late reply, but yes I think I will be able to start as well next week. I would like to finish Zarathoustra first but that should be some time soon, so next week is ok^^
And yes, I think it would be cool if we can have an official buddy-read :-)

Liesl: We will be able to start chatting about it with you soon! :-)

Sid_rw: Good luck with your challenge! And you never know, if you go fast through your books and we ( i'm espacially thinking of my self XD ) are moving slowly maybe you will be able to jump-in at some point ;-)

Thanks, Irphen, I'm definitely looking forward to joining some of the group-oriented activities when able :)

Oh I imagine it must have been cool to read Sleepy Hollow with your boys indeed!^^ ( sorry for the late reply, I lost your message amid of all the others... ) And also I understand home schooling can be a good idea sometimes :-) Actally I've been homeschooled for most of my childhood, joining the school system only when I was 14, nearly 15

message 64: by Irphen (new)

Irphen | 389 comments Well I'm moving quite well on the Old & New challenge but all the others are way back..! Coming time I will be trying to get a bit to them, especially the Group Read challenge and also the short story one I think

Yes you are right about that, quite some very nice books! I wouldn't even know which one to chose if I had to pick one favourite! ;-p Thank you!

message 67: by Irphen (new)

Irphen | 389 comments Not going to complete this either... Again I totally failed to be reasonable and realistic XD Maybe next year I will do better? ;-p

Not to worry, Irphen. You accomplished the main goal, you read some great books. And, there is always tomorrow.

Thank you for your encouraging words Sara!^^ And you are right, the most important thing is to read and enjoy books :-) And yes there is always tomorrow, with a bit of luck the coming tomorrows will help me to complete at least the short story challenge! ;-)

True there are thirty days left in the year, so at one short story a day, it would definitely be enough time to finish up that challenge!
