I can't remember the name of a book I read a year ago, I just remember that it was about a girl whose father either goes missing/is killed but she doesn't really believe that he is dead and goes looking for him with his apprentice who has become her "guardian" I believe. I am pretty sure the girl was red headed. And I believe they lived in a world where women/girls were either inferior or had to have a male "guardian" I believe it was a YA Novel. There might have been dragons?
