If you guys could add, it'd be great. I think it'd allow me to focus more on particular books.

If I can enter, add me for thirteen books, please.

1. The word "change" (Changes, Changing, or other variations) in its title. The Changing Faces of Jesus

3. An adaptation of its original format (book-to-manga, translation, etc.) Meditaciones sobre la vida

4. The author's initials found in the word "change". Happiness is the Wrong Metric: A Liberal Communitarian Response to Populism by Amitai Etzioni.
The Golden Sayings of Epictetus by Epictetus.

7. A topic or character about which you feel differently now than in the past. Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia

8. Changing one's mind about a life decision. Plato at the Googleplex: Why Philosophy Won't Go Away

10. Relocating to a different city, state/province, or country. The Traveller's Daybook: A Tour of the World in 366 Quotations

11. Cultivating new daily habits. The Nicomachean Ethics

13. Life changes due to age. The Piano Teacher

14. A medical transformation. All That Remains: A Life in Death

15. A life-changing experience. The Holy war, made by King Shaddai upon Diabolus, for the regaining of the metropolis of the world; or, the losing and taking again of the town of Mansoul

17. An action or phenomenon that transforms society or the world. You can't read this book

19. Technological innovation. Chimeras, Hybrids, and Interspecies Research: Politics and Policymaking

TamaraT | 22 comments I'm going to be ambitious...sign me up for all 20. I have a few books I've read since January 1st that already fit some of the prompts so starting off with a headstart 😁

7/20
Read a book that features:
1. The word "change" (Changes, Changing, or other variations) in its title.
2. The theme of money or money on its cover (loose change).
3. An adaptation of its original format (book-to-manga, translation, etc.)
4. The author's initials found in the word "change"
5. Separate book sections or part of a series of three or more books (make change)
6. An author or character writing under a pseudonym
✔ 7. A topic or character about which you feel differently now than in the past. The Lord of the Rings read January 3rd.

I used to love Frodo but as I reread every year I start to dread the boring parts that have Frodo in it

Read a book about an activity below or someone (real or fictional) who engages in it.
✔ 8. Changing one's mind about a life decision. Rude awakenings of a Jane Austen Addict read January 4th

Jane/Courtney was all set to go back into the past until she decided to stay in the modern world.

✔ 9. Switching careers/jobs. Fog & Mist: the Canens Chronicles book 1 read February 6th

From princess to slave...quite a career switch.

10. Relocating to a different city, state/province, or country.

✔ 11. Cultivating new daily habits. The Way of Shadows read January 23rd

Going from streetrat to assassin/wetboy...sounds like new daily habits to me.

✔ 12. A character who shifts shapes or identities. Dark Purity read January 6th

Ere not only can shapeshift into anyone male or female but also can turn into a DRAGON!

✔ 13. Life changes due to age New Beginnings read February 5th

Turning 18 meant that Lori was no longer protected from being raped by every male in her pack. It was the change that morivated the rest of the plot.

✔14. A medical transformation Rose, Awake read January 8th

After being kept in a coma for years Rose is finally ready to be awoken
15. A life-changing experience.
16. A changing household
17. An action or phenomenon that transforms society or the world.
18. Replacing one thing with another (change out)
19. Technological innovation
20. A game-changer.

message 59: by Malola (new)

Malola (the_queen_bee_malola) | 54 comments Thanks for adding me, guys!! :)
<3 <3 <3 Now I'm 1/13.

7. A topic or character about which you feel differently now than in the past. Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia

I've been biased against graphic novels.
Though, TH is not the best comic I've read, it was enjoyable enough. Plus, this is the Wonder Woman Gal Gadot is portraying... strong yet caring, honours her word, gives the benefit of the doubt, unassuming and with an open heart.

2. The theme of money or money on its cover (loose change). Not One of Us

Kind of a stretch, but the motive of the murders/attacks was money-related. There were other money motivated characters too.

15. A life-changing experience. The Holy war, made by King Shaddai upon Diabolus, for the regaining of the metropolis of the world; or, the losing and taking again of the town of Mansoul

The symbolism was good but the whole thing stroke as too black or white for my taste. So life-changing I guess giving the set... Mansoul's citized required grace to be saved.
Thanks again, guys, for accepting me!

michelle-belle (chelly_) | 63 comments Updating progress! I have completed my first prompt of 5 for “#3 - an adaptation to its original format” by reading The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. It was my first book read of 2021 and a 5 star one ☺️ It was originally published in Spanish and was translated (his works have been translated into more than 40 languages). Super pleased- it’s a 500 page book too and I’m realizing how much I adore a good lengthy novel. To top it all off I just found out that it is the first in a series so there’s three more books following it I’ll be reading too!

Oh, I liked his style (and Fermín... lol). True gothic.
I've only read El Prisionero del Cielo, which I think it's the third one. There's a short story (really cool) that was for free in Kindle that was supposed to go between the second and the third book, I think.
