I think the year was around 2015 or 16 From what I can remember the book is about a boy who suddenly gets the power to turn in to any animal and this man shows up at his home and takes him to a school for the gifted and near the end, his stepmother finds out and tries to blackmail him and the school plus I remember the covers of the different books in the series being orange, green, blue and they had different animals on the covers I believe
