The other one I'm looking for is silver in the title. (sorry I fixed my post now).

Kelly - Will a book that's partially set in BC work for the purple gem quest?

message 8354: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments at least half of the book has to be set in the time period. so the good news is it doesn't have to be the whole book :-)

message 8355: by Morgan (new)

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 522 comments Hmm okay I wouldn't say 50% on either.
I'll look at silver/gold when I get home and if I have anything in my reading soon I could move up to help out.

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3798 comments Also, I'm posting again in the Open Mark
(https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...)

In case people have extra books and are looking for some gold...

I'm going to post a list of books in that I need to fill in for gems. They are not as desperate as Silver in the title or a book from BC, but I'm tired of looking at the gem quests haha.

Artie (artabra) | 212 comments For the The Lantern to Light Your Way Home quest:

- Read 1 book with a light on the cover to light the lampost.

What do we understand by "a light"? I have this book where there's a light behind one of the characters, does it count?

The Armies of Daylight (Darwath, #3) by Barbara Hambly

Hrm... I feel like that's more light in the general sense than "a light".

I was thinking more like:
Lantern in the Mist by Liliana Shelbrook or The City of Ember (Book of Ember, #1) by Jeanne DuPrau

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments I have this book

Surrounded By Crimson (Sumeria's Sons, #4) by Lexi Ander

Which is obviously red, but tiny eye says its brown - does this disqualify it from a red cover book?

I've always been ok using your regular eyes to determine color. I feel Tiny eye is just a tool that can be used if you're not using your gut.

message 8388: by Laventeli (new)

Laventeli | 168 comments What do you do about audiobooks if the task is cover based. So far i put the book to another use or if there is only one cover i can use it normally. But lately i've been listening classics and it is more difficult.

message 8389: by Morgan (new)

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 522 comments I know Reva used to put up all the possible covers for the books she sold. Most classics have some variety there as far as covers, but you can also use them for "a book where x happens" or title starting with ___ or any number of things. There's not really a lot that will restrict you there.

message 8390: by Laventeli (new)

Laventeli | 168 comments So i can use whatever cover they ever had? Interesting. I need to re-check if i can use some of my books in reserve.

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments I thought it was like most other challenges, use the default edition for audiobooks?

message 8392: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments I'm ok with using any of the covers available. I know that sometimes the cover I read isn't even in goodreads.

There are some exceptions where it specifically mentions information about the edition you read. (Like the lying quest).
