Any of my fellow mods interested in taking up the responsibilities? Setting up polls, suggestion threads, communications etc? I can but I would rather focus on the manga stuff as I have been or take this on and hand the manga stuff over to someone else. I’m more than happy to help and can run it myself in the short term but would prefer not to do both long term.

Absolutely up to you Eden. What I've been doing is starting a nomination thread and sending out a communication on the 15th. Let that run for a week and then take the nominations and create a poll and post another communication. Make the poll end within a week and then send out another communication declaring the winner and linking the new topic for discussion. I think for our first month we should consider doing a max 12-13 episode series to see how it takes. We could also do a film instead of or along with that. I can help out as much as you need. However you'd like to run it is fine with me.

I would say yes but I can think of two problems with me. I'm not very organized and if you remember, I put Berserk on our starting manga list so I don't think I would be able to pick out anime that everyone could watch.

Hello everyone, sorry for being inactive these past few weeks. it was really hard to be a student and a reader at the same time. especially with my mental health being unstable. I hope you all understand. I will do better next time and help the other moderators to handle the group.

Ok why don't we go with a prequel or sequel series theme for May.

Grace I like your idea. What would the stipulation be? Would it have to be a manga that has an anime in particular season? Like if we did this for June would it have to have an anime from the Spring or Summer anime season? Or are you thinking more open ended like as long as they've announced anime for it?

Funny though that I think we inadvertently did it with Househusband this month.

I’ve noticed a lot of people like anime and like reading the manga first. So could be a cool thing to do semi regularly if you can’t come up with other themes for a certain month. :)

I hope you guys don't mind I spiced up the banners a bit. I don't see MK around much so I didn't ask, sorry.

For June's group read I was thinking we could nominate manga that had anime adaptations released in 2020. Then we could co-ordinate the Anime of the Month for June to coincide with it. This is kind of like what was previously suggested. I was thinking we should restrict the nominations to first seasons though. So we're not, say, reading volume 1 of Black Clover or AoT and then watching that. But I am open for anything.

Jenny what do you think. Would this be ok for you? Anyone else have any thoughts.

Hello everyone! I am sorry for being inactive but I can assure you that I will be active after my finals! I also want to tell you all about something that I've been planning to do since months. I want to ask for your permission first before doing it and I want your opinion about so here it is!

Since our group is open for anything that involves reading as long as it is graphic novels, mangas, etc.. I've been planning on making a challenge or a topic/discussion about manhwa/manhua/webtoons!

the challenge would be to read as many mangas, manhwas, manhuas etc.. and all of it should pass the criteria, if one passes the criteria they would have a point, also the page count and the length of reviews of what you've read, you would earn points too! It's like a game but I think this would be very fun if everyone participates so that other graphic novels would have a review.

With the topic/discussion, I am planning on attracting more readers by adding different titles here so that if new people would visit, they would find some other familiar titles and we could also make a book discussion about it!


Also, regarding to the personal spaces, we should make it more active and have people make their own spaces and there they would put the titles of what they read in the months, it's like a book wrap up! and also what they are planning to read. we can also chat in each other's spaces.

We already gained a hundred members and we are less active, I guess some people are still shy to socialize with us but don't worry! We don't bite! We just really want to chat and also welcome everyoneeeee!! ♡

I'm planning on starting the July recommendation thread this weekend. I was thinking Science Fiction for the theme. Any other ideas? I was also thinking we could do a 90's manga, 00's and 10's manga themes as well in the upcoming months.

Let me know your thoughts. I'm on vacation starting Monday so I want to try to get it up before then and then set up the vote when I get back the following week.

Idk if this has been done before, but at some point, months from now, we could make shonen, shoujo, seinen and josei themes. I know these are not genres but demographics, but I still think it could be interesting, idk

We haven't done them as themes per se but we have touched on some of them in our group reads. For shonen we've done One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen. For Shojo we've done Kimi ni Todoke and Fruits Basket. Some of the titles you could maybe lump in with seinen or josei but probably not directly. That said I have absolutely no problem using them as themes.

Does look good? If no one has a problem with this we can just roll this out. Though obviously nothing has to be set in stone if great ideas come along or the community wants something else we can change as needed.

I'm planning to add more titles but yeah what are you watching thread just works out lol. I also edited a discussion thread as Welcome Newbies but I am thinking to chamge it again as "Start Here" what do you think?

Start here would work, think it would help new people have direction of where to start. I'd be fine with other types of medias, though I'm not sure how easy webtoons and comics are to find (for me at least)
