SOLVED. YA- read around 2010- Girl is accidentally hypnotized and starts remembering her past

The details I remember of this book are pretty vague but here is what I do remember- a young girl is accidentally hypnotized at a friends birthday party (?). She then has a flash back from her past and remembers her mother is not actually her mother (it might have been her god mother or aunt) and she was brought from a different country. I also remember something about her being put in the trunk of a car?
