Annika Hoogendoorn-Van Oosten (annikavo) | 7 comments Goodafternoon,

I have an old edition of this book in Dutch. I think from 1960/1970, maybe even older.
The book only mentions the writer and publisher. Is it possible to look up more information about the book, like ISBN, publishing date etc, before adding the edition?

Thanks!

Sandra | 31435 comments If the book is 1960ish it won't have an isbn.

If you like you could try to find it on Worldcat. Have a look through these editions, and ignore the covers as they are often wrong.

lethe | 16359 comments For Dutch editions, the KB (National Library) is your best bet: https://opc-kb.oclc.org/

Sandra | 31435 comments Duh, never thought of that lethe. Thanks.

Annika Hoogendoorn-Van Oosten (annikavo) | 7 comments Thank you Sandra and Lethe! I think I have found the right one, but need to check at home.

Thanks again!

Odette Brethouwer (odettebrethouwer) | 383 comments I'm dipping in this as well, I've had ontact with Annika about this.

I think I found an Goodreads entry that this is another edition of: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... but, the illustrator of the edition on Goodreads is different then the one Annika has. She found this KB entry that matches her copy: https://opc-kb.oclc.org/DB=1/SET=2/TT...

SO, I could use some advise! Is this indeed another edition, or do I need to make it a separate entry?

lethe | 16359 comments The KB results didn't stick.

Annika thought her edition was from the 1960s/70s. The one on GR is from 1994.

If Annika or you can provide the information of her copy, I'll have a look, but personally, I say if the illutrator is different, a new edition needs to be added.

Annika Hoogendoorn-Van Oosten (annikavo) | 7 comments Does this one work? It is even older then I thought.

No, it doesn't. Please provide the info of your book and the year and I'll try to find it in the KB.

Annika Hoogendoorn-Van Oosten (annikavo) | 7 comments It is called 'De Grote Tovenaar van Oz'. And the year is 1952, the Illustrator is Van Looy.
The publisher is L.J. Veen in Amsterdam.

I hope this helps.

lethe | 16359 comments Yes, found it :)

I think it should just be added as a new edition to https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...

The KB has L. Frank Baum as primary author.

The edition in msg #6 is an adaptation with Henri van Daele as primary author and could therefore not be another edition of this one.
