Bailey | 3 comments This book is told in the perspective of a girl that left her hometown and moved to another state in order to leave behind her abusive ex boyfriend (Kyle, I think) and her family members that did not believe her about the abuse. She moves to another state to go to a college, I think its a Southern state. Before classes begin, she meets a guy named Peter and ends up going back to his apartment with him. But she leaves abruptly once things start getting serious since she is scarred from her abusive ex. She later finds out that Peter is her college professor and tries to avoid him. They end up not being able to avoid each other and end up secretly dating. There might be more than one book to the series. They eventually go on a road trip together to go back to the girl's hometown to face her family. They stop at Peter's family's house, who is very wealthy but he does not talk about them because he does not get along with them. On the road trip, they find a turkey that they rescue. When they get to the girl's hometown, the mom ends up believing her. The ex-boyfriend also tries to attack the girl with a knife, but Peter saves her. I believe Peter and the girl get a house together too. I read this book in 2015 and cannot remember anything else about it. Please help!

Bailey, what's the genre (which we need to add to the header/topic title) - e.g., contemporary romance for adults (YA=teens, in this group), romantic suspense?

Bailey | 3 comments Kris,
I believe it was young adult fiction.
