This thread is to discuss The Selection, the first book in the The Selection Series by Kiera Cass.

Yeah, I finished it fast! I liked the POV it was written in and the honesty the character’s had amongst each other. It has a The Bachelor style vibe to it. I’m Team Maxon! There’s a little love triangle going on.

Sorry I had such a migraine the past two days and I'm feeling a lot better today. So finally getting into it.

I read The Princess Test a few days ago which has a similar premise. I wonder if Kiera Cass was inspired by that story?
Just finished chapter 7. (view spoiler)[I thought Aspen is such a sweetie. It was interesting how he tried to make America jealous but next moment he's shouting her name like he's heartbroken.
Also, America is musical and her surname is Singer. That must have been deliberate. (hide spoiler)]

Hmm.. never read that book before.

Chapter 13: (view spoiler)[I would like some more background about the rebels. I don't really get why they just attacked the palace. Lucy's story was interesting - is it true though? I thought she was upset because she has a boyfriend who's a rebel but it turned out to be something different. (hide spoiler)]
