Ilse | 2 comments I read a book like eight years ago and the only thing I remember is the plot:( (it may be a little confusing)

It's a fictional book about a futuristic society in which each people has a gift (or a superpower), another thing they have is that they invented a pill to no sleep ever again but the main character is not sure about taking it.
The main character's superpower is to feel what the others feel and because of that the government ask for his help to fin out what a recently captured alien wants on that planet. He agrees to help them but as he gets to knows this alien he start to build like a friendship with him and agrees to help him escape to his planet.
This alien reveals a lot of information to him, one thing I remember the most is that the alien tells him that there are 7 planets and that once you die in 1 you born in the next one until the cycle is completed with the 7 planets and that you may have the same relationship with the people you know or you may not be related to them at all. This is something that I really remember because the main character starts to date a woman and the alien tells him that he already knew her in his past life and if he helps him and want to he will tell him which was their relationship. Spoiler: they help the alien escape and he confess them that they were siblings on their past life.

I've been trying to remember the title and trying to find this book for so loooong that I'm starting to think i dreamed it :(

Ilse, what's the genre (which we need to add to the header/topic title) - e.g., for adults or teens, science fiction, thriller. romance?
