SOLVED. Children's book about parents divorcing with little elf-like characters

I read this book back in the 2000s, I don't recall what specific year. It was little colored children's book explaining divorce to children. The characters never spoke there was just a narration explaining the process, feelings, and situation of children seeing their parents divorce. The characters were little elf-looking creatures and I think one of a few of them had candles on their heads.

The cover image had a brother and sister seated on a couch holding hands while their parents stood on either side. The kids themselves looked sad. I remember one interior drawing where the mother and father were yelling at each other through a window over something broken.

I sadly can't remember the names of the author and artists. Please, let me know if you can help. Thank you.
