And anyone - if you want to change a task or swap a task with someone, just let me know. We have lots of time and the list is not set in stone. I just wanted to get started on the spreadsheet to make it easier to visualise and organise.

Looks great Gail, just thought I'd point out you have The Colour of Magic listed twice for 2 different people in the hobbies section. Is that how it's meant to be?
Yes, two people are reading The Colour of Magic for two different tasks. There doesn't seem to be any rule saying two people can't read the same book. I think the idea of Topplers is to get through your TBR, and it makes sense that several people might have some of the same books.
Connie wrote: "ok, I am stopping now. : ) for a bit"For a bit? 7 books Connie, wow wish I could read that fast.
Well, I'm off to bed now. I probably won't be online much tomorrow - let me know of any changes and books to add in the other thread. If you put *** EDIT *** at the beginning of your post there, I'll know there's something new/different on it!By the way, is anyone friends with Azalea? I've just seen that her post from last week about wanting to do the Toppler is her only post here since 2011, so I'm thinking she might not know her way about the group. So I thought if someone is friends with her, they could maybe message her and tell her she's in our group, and give her the link to this thread. She may be fine, of course, but I'm just thinking that if I turned up as a new person to do the Toppler and saw all these threads, I'd be totally lost!
I can do a dystopian story and a science fiction story ... Breakers. Not sure which dystopian yet, but I'll let you know.
Here are some more gophering. Since I can do 4 books, you can add 2 in the spreadsheet for me from among those:Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark (Hunger Games) – Read a dystopian book - The Giver 179 pages
Will Arnett and Amy Poehler – Read a humorous book - The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul 307 pages
Shrek and Fiona – Read a book with a royal character - Princess Elizabeth's Spy 352 pages
Mickey and Minnie Mouse - Read a book where an animal is a main character - Thereby Hangs a Tail 309 pages
Gomez and Morticia Addams – Read a paranormal book with ghosts, witches, or wizards - A Ghost of a Chance 212 pages
I will check the spreadsheet to know which ones you want me to read so I don't read them before the Toppler LOL
Gail, thanks for sorting this out! I'm fine with the ones you've chosen for me.Of the ones I've gophered Dust fits the sci-fi couples option.
You can also put me down for the forbidden love one too, I'm interested to see what that is!
Kerri wrote: "ok I found a book I could read for crafting The Forgotten Seamstress. Let me know if you want me to do that instead of one of the couples reads I've put down."Sorry Kerri, but this book doesn't qualify. Being a seamstress was her occupation.
I'll make this an official announcement. The surprise bonus points have nothing to do with how many different tasks are completed. That could give an unfair advantage to teams that have more high volume readers. I assume you'll want to be sure the tasks that earn bonus points are completed, but other than that, let everyone read what they want.
Hi everyone - I've updated the spreadsheet. But now jmom has told us the bonus points are not about how many tasks are completed, we really don't need to try to cover every task, other than the bonus ones. So do let me know if you'd rather do different books from the ones I've put you down for. I'm going to take the red off the spreadsheet, because we don't need to highlight tasks that haven't been taken.
Take a look at your names again to make sure it's all up-to-date and I haven't missed anything.

I could not resist. Laughed out loud when I first saw it.
I've got 7+ books lined up for the toppler. About half already checked out but not due 'til Feb 14 or later. The others I'm first in line for hold request. Can still take up to a week to come thru, but that's still enough time. Feels good to be ready, er, ready-ish : )
Hello all I am now part of this team :-) I am very flexible give me three or four or even five topics and I will find books for them I like most genres, just no westerns please :-)
Welcome Berit! I think you just can pick whatever you want to read, since the tasks with bonus are covered, and there's not need of cover all the other. If you chose a bonus task, great, so we can have back up just in case. If you chose something else, it's fine too since every book sums 10 points. There's a spreed sheet somewhere in this thread...
Thank you :-) I will look over the list and figure somethings to read out. So if I'm understanding right every book I read is worth 10 points, am I right? This is all a little or a lot need to me :-)
One more question, well I'll probably have many more questions :-) can I read a book someone else has red?
Berit wrote: "One more question, well I'll probably have many more questions :-) can I read a book someone else has red?"Yes you can, and that book could be read for the Clubbing – Read a book from another participant’s tbr category ;o)
i'll read the first four or five suggestions I get :-) I think this will be superduper cool!!!also as far as I can tell any book you can get it to fit in so I get the 10 points I think I got it :-)I had an idea :-) if anyone on the team wants to give me a book off their TBR List I will read it!my preferred genres are YA, chick lit, historical fiction, and I'm starting to slowly get into fantasy and science-fiction.
Okay well, my phone screwed up the above post :-) basically give me suggestions of books and I will read them and we will make them fit :-) thanks ahead I can't wait!
Hi Berit - welcome to the team! :) The rules and the categories are here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...It's best to choose books that are shortish (although they need to be longer than 175 pages for this Toppler) and fairly easy to read, so that it's easier to get them all read. You can choose from any of the categories - chick lit, YA, etc - and you'll see there are also some less conventional categories like a book with a pair of shoes on the cover, or a book set on an island. It's totally up to you. If you just chose five books that you really want to read, you'd probably find categories to put them in. Just let us know which books you choose, and which categories they fall into, and then during the Toppler let us know when you've read them. :-)
Or would you prefer us to suggest books for you? I'm happy to recommend some books, but my taste might be quite different from yours! :)
I will suggest The Age of Innocence, as it's on your TBR and also on mine. :-) I suspect, from having seen the movie long ago, that it would fall into the 'forbidden love' category, and also it would come under the 'classics' category.
Also, Berit, have you read The Giver? That is a dystopian YA novel that I really enjoyed. And it's a quick read.
Good morning! Well it's morning here 6 AM to be precise. I welcome any and all suggestions I will take the two given to me so far and read them for sure. Any other suggestions are more than welcome part of doing this is reading stuff I wouldn't normally read. The bonus to it is meeting at such amazing people :-)
I just got the age of innocence, already have the giver :-) need to read Scarlet and the other typist for other reasons that week. Also planning on writing a Janet Ivana bitch book I think I'm on number 19, so there is five I can definitely commit to those five and figure out where they can fit for yousee what I'm saying I'm not gonna write the book I'm going to read the book, my brain goes I don't know where :-)okay well I need to get my kids off to school, have a wonderful day or for somebody and evening :-)I'm going to let you guys know right away I don't type well, my grammar is horrible when I am typing, I never use caps sorry :-) that being said…
Ooh, Berit, I'm not on this team but I love the Stephanie Plum series!! One of these days I would like to re-read them all! I've been waiting for the latest one at the library FOrEVeR :( I'm too cheap to buy it, unless I can get it for under $10 :)
Hmmm, I'm wondering about the bonus points. I wonder if one of the couples is the "Mystery Date" and whichever team has the most people going on the date with that couple (reading that type of book) is the team that will win the bonus points.
Hi Berit - sounds like you've got a good reading plan. When I do a search for Scarlett, I find there are two different books of that name. When you're writing a post, if you click on 'add book/author' at the top of the comment box, you can find the one you mean and add it that way, so it shows as a link. Could you do that for the books you plan to read, so I can add them to the list. Thanks. :-)
I was thinking yesterday about the secret bonus too. My only conclusion was that is suppose to be a mystery!!
It might be for number of pages, like it was last time. Or maybe for books that actually include two people going on a date.
I have a feeling Team B have the advantage - they have Rebecca, who's a super speed reader, and the main books she reads are romance! :-)
Gail wrote: "I have a feeling Team B have the advantage - they have Rebecca, who's a super speed reader, and the main books she reads are romance! :-)"But it was mentionned that the mystery bonus would not advantage the teams containing more power readers than the others...
