Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 1282 comments Thanks Rus =^-^=

I've got my 4 books. If I have more time to read more I'll let you know.

message 202: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments Casceil, can you do the shoe book? My pick doesn't look like it's going to be available, at the library, in time. Grr.

message 203: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Janice, could you please add the link to the spreadsheet to the first post, so that it's always easy to find?

message 204: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I think everyone has checked in now. Do we need to assign the bonus point tasks out or are we just going to do the ones we have been put down for on the spreadsheet?

message 205: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I think we need to assign. I'm down for three, but can only read one for sure. I might be able to fit a second one in, but rather not one that's needed for bonus points.

message 206: by Lisa (last edited Jan 28, 2015 02:15AM) (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I think we need to assign the bonus tasks too Peggy. I am provisionally down for five but will probably only manage three (four at a push).

message 207: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Maybe we can each say what our preference task/book is (and choose the amount of book/task you are pretty sure you can do, whether it's 1 or 2 books) to start the narrowing down. If anyone picks the same taks we can start assigning?

message 208: by Lisa (last edited Jan 28, 2015 05:19AM) (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments My preferences would be:

Shooting - Toby's Room
Reading - The Daughter of Time
Main character has a job you would like your date to have - Jackaby

I should easily be able to read three books within the week.

message 209: by Tasha (new)

Tasha My main preference would be:
Book set in Africa

My second book can be wherever needed or just for points.

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Peggy wrote: "Janice, could you please add the link to the spreadsheet to the first post, so that it's always easy to find?"

Done. Another suggestion is to add it to your favourites which is what I've done.

message 211: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Okay, if we're assigning books... I'm thinking I can read 3, possibly 4.

Preferences: (* designates bonus points)
*Canada - Crow Lake
*Series - Wayward
Couples Gene Roddenbury (SciFi) - The Martian
Couples Bella/Edward (Horro) - Seed

message 212: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Get your diva on, ladies! It's book selection time!

message 213: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments I'll take "shoes" and "crafting." I will probably read at least one more book, but I would like to finish the first two and see where we are, what day it is, and what we need, before deciding on a category.

message 214: by Marie (UK) (last edited Jan 28, 2015 01:42PM) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 2277 comments I am fairly sure i can do 3

my preferences would be
Me & Emma (head)
Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (clubbing)

3rd could fit one of non bonus point sections.

message 215: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I have lots of short options for collecting comic books or reading, so one of those would be great.

message 216: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments I'll take Torso, Alien world/spaceship and Geek/gaming.

I may be able to get in more than three, and have plenty of books to fit the other categories.

message 217: by Tasha (last edited Jan 29, 2015 04:43AM) (new)

Tasha I can start a list so we can get a better picture of what the preferences are:

head: Marie
eyes:
torso: Lara
legs: Liz
shoes: Casceil

africa: Tasha
s america:
canada: Janice
alien/spaceship: Lara
island:

comics: Janice, Peggy
shooting: Lisa
reading: Peggy, Lisa
clubbing: Marie
role play: Lara
crafting: Casceil

message 218: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Go team!

message 219: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments I'll do Legs for sure.

I have a book for island and eyes, as well, but I'd prefer to just read books I really want to read (for the couples tasks) for my additional Toppler reads. If needed I can step up for eyes or island.

message 220: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Right. So. Now I haven't been kicked off the internet as my spreadsheet was using all the bandwidth that someone couldn't play his game (grrrrr), I've edited the sheet.

Purple is the preferences people have indicated above. Pretty well spread out. Peggy's doubles up, which is fine as I am sure we can use books in multiple sections.

If I take Island, Anne takes South America, and Poongothai takes eyes, then we just need someone to take legs and all the bonus points are done. Then we can read whatever we wish!

message 221: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Oops Sorry Liz. I got confused there with Liz, Lisa and Lara.

Looks like in the 45 mins I was being told I didn't get a job Tasha did the same!

message 223: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Looks good Rusalka.

message 224: by Liz (new)

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 1282 comments Rus, my books are locked and loaded ready to read! COLOR Me Assigned =)

Looks Like:

Torso - February by Lisa Moore

Where From:

Africa - South Africa Blood Safari by Deon Meyer

South America - Thursday Night Widows by Claudia Piñeiro

Hobbies:

Shooting - Path of the Assassin (Scot Harvath, #2) by Brad Thor

message 227: by Poongothai (new)

Poongothai (poongsa) | 483 comments I'll take up Eyes, Rusalka
Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Crusie

message 228: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments I've just realised that we have more double ups. And you know what? I don't think that matters at all. Each read we do does 10 points.

MOAR POINTS!

So as long as we cover those 16 tasks for the bonus points, we can read the same task again and again and again. However, if someone wants to change their read (ie they were reading something for the team and we're really keen on it) that has two people reading it, go crazy.

message 229: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I don't think the double ups matter at all either. It is probably good to have back ups in case real life gets in the way and someone isn't able to finish all their planned books. At least that way we know we will complete the 16 bonus point tasks once and get the points. I think most books will fit more than one category anyway so we can always spread them out a bit at the end.

Completely agree.

I love it when we are all on the same page. We're no longer a team, we're a hive mind!

message 232: by Tasha (new)

Tasha We got that organized so well! The spreadsheet looks great! I have my first book here, ready to go. I'm sure I can fit in a second but I'll just keep it open for now to see what's what during the toppler.

Go Divas!!

message 233: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments We are the collective!

message 234: by KimeyDiann (new)

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments Sorry I haven't been checking in very much. Life has definitely gotten in the way this week!

I'll commit to two books. I'll chose something that fits in the couples categories, I'm just not sure what yet.

I think we should focus on the couples section since the bonus point sections appear to be well handled. I feel like the secret bonus points may have something to do with that section. Of course it could be something completely unrelated, like total numbers of pages read or the most sexy books or who knows what else! LOL

Jmom has said that the extra bonus points awarded at the end have nothing to do with the number of tasks completed so my guess would be that they will be given to the individual who reads the most books during the week. Now that we have the bonus sections all sorted out, we can all basically read what we like :)

message 237: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I know, Anne. I'm ready to read.

message 238: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I'm back, have a normal computer again instead of my phone, so I can finally be a bit more active here.

The spreadsheet looks great! I see that I'm the second person for some of the bonus tasks. Since all bonus-tasks are covered, should I still read one of the two tasks I'm currently assigned to? I guess it doesn't really matter anymore, right?

I think I might still go for Collecting Comic Books with Two Old Fools In Spain Again. I usually read the books in this series in just two days, so perfect toppler-material!

message 239: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments Love the dancing kitty Anne!

message 240: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I don't think it really matters, Peggy. As long as we've got the bonus points covered, it's a free-for-all. Every book counts, and who knows what the mystery points may be awarded too.

Glad to have you back.

Hi Lisa. I thought you would when I saw it; he's for you. I love the older reading cat.

message 242: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments Good morning! I'm wondering if we should try to keep our body parts all one gender (or use unisex images). I have both male and female torsos I could use.

On another note, I somehow missed that we can't double up our series reads here, so had to spend a lovely couple of hours looking for alternates to my initial list ;-)

message 243: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Lara wrote: "On another note, I somehow missed that we can't double up our series reads here, so had to spend a lovely couple of hours looking for alternates to my initial list ;-)..."

You can read your series books for the Toppler. You can't read them for the Monthly Challenge, but that's the only restriction.

Lara | 1426 comments Janice wrote: "You can read your series books for the Toppler. You can't read them for the Monthly Challenge, but that's the only restriction. "

Whew! I guess I misread that. I'm glad as I'm trying to get in some reading this month that doesn't fit any of my challenges. Although, I found I own a bunch of books already that would fit various Toppler criteria. So, could at least read something from my too large elibrary.

message 246: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments At least you have millions of options to fit your mood Lara!

I'm thinking I'm going to read Mahu Surfer for my island read. Knocks another series book off too.

I always try and read a Chrestomanci book in to each Toppler as well. I didn't notice a Witch friendly or a kid book section. Anyone have any ideas where I could squeeze Witch Week in?

message 247: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Collecting comic books (i.e. reading a book that is part of a series) maybe?

message 248: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments It could also fit in:

- Romeo and Juliet – Read a YA book
- Will Arnett and Amy Poehler – Read a humorous book (if it's humorous - looks like it might be)
- Gomez and Morticia Addams – Read a paranormal book with ghosts, witches, or wizards
- Almeta and Kermit - Read a book where a human and other life form interact. (Vampire, werewolf, witch, robot, alien)

message 249: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I'll commit to a second book which will fill the Shaggy and Scooby cat: The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Promise.

message 250: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments ... Thanks Janice. How on EARTH did I miss Gomez and Morticia?

Urgh.
