I'm definitely sticking with it. I'm finding that listening to the audio (read by Clare Danes) is actually easier to follow. Despite some of the random thought patterns in the writing, I am really enjoying (like you said, not the correct word) this book. I'm hoping I can finish it tomorrow morning so it will count for the toppler. And I think it will count for the open post-apocalypse category.

Tasha I'll be finishing my 3rd by tonight for sure, maybe by this afternoon. Talulla Rising

I'm not sure it's YA. It's just about teenagers. But we can make it fit somewhere of course. Let me know how you find it. I liked the movie, and loved the soundtrack.

Glad you got home okay!

message 511: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments I finished A Tale Dark & Grimm. Now I think I'll read something for fun and see how it fits. I think I can finish another book by noon tomorrow...

message 512: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments Alrighty, Divas- I finished book number 4. Pheeew! Thank goodness for my husband working evening hours this week, so I've had plenty of time for reading. But that's all she wrote for me! Going to enjoy the rest of the evening tonight without a book in my hands.

I think we have rocked this Toppler! Way to go, all!

message 513: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments I've finished my sixth and last book. I'm on Mountain time, so the toppler ends at ten a.m. for me, and I doubt I could finish another book that fast. It's been a great toppler, and I have the BEST team.

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Wooo hooo! Thanks guys for all your effort and work! I'm so impressed with us!

I don't think it's post apocalyptic unfortunately. It's definitely dystopian. But not after most cataclysmic event ever. I may be too hardline on this though. What do others think?

message 516: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments I'm on my phone, so I can't look at the spreadsheet. Just curious- did we fill in all the categories?

message 517: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments We have Tasha finishing her Vamp book for Buffy and Angel, and then we have the post apocalyptic one to do. But that may be filled if people think I'm being too hardline fangirl and strict on definitions of apocalypse.

message 518: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments I have half a notion to find a short, post-apocalyptic book and just knock it out tonight. But I'll refrain- and instead, feel uneasy.
Damn, OCD tendencies!

Lara | 1426 comments I started reading a post-apocalyptic horror book this week: Red Equinox. It takes place in Boston after the oceans have risen. I'll see if I can finish it in the morning.

message 522: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I have finished my fourth and final book, Glimpse. The first half was pretty good, the second not so much. I felt that the plot didn't really go anywhere after a while yet the climax itself was rushed and predictable. It all felt a bit empty and shallow for me by the end. However, there were some parts early on that were quite good and I liked how it was inspired by the poem 'The Highwayman'. I gave it 3 stars.

message 523: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I finished Talulla Rising for Buffy! Not sure if I'll read the last one. I didn't enjoy this one as much as The Last Werewolf.

message 524: by Tasha (new)

Tasha It is so nice seeing that spreadsheet almost completely filled up! We did such an amazing job! Rusalka, thanks so much for keeping that together. :)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Finished Hide and Seek. It's 2am, and the only casualty was a $50 crystal wine glass.

No worries on the sheet. I'll update it when I wake up, possibly in 10 hours or so. Eyes not working. Yay toppler and team. wooortts

message 527: by Tasha (new)

Tasha what happened to the wine glass?!

message 528: by Janice, Moderator (last edited Feb 14, 2015 07:16AM) (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I finished my final read as well - book 6. Fever for sexy.

My book (The Last Town) for nasty occupation could be slated into post-apolyptic if one of the duplicates could fit nasty occupation. Any ideas out there?

message 529: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments You could put Strange Magic under nasty occupation. The lead character is a wanderer, gambler, and occasional fixer (using magic against demons and such). He essentially has no job and plays piano at bars in exchange for food etc. He also lives in his car--a souped up Camino with a camper topper.

message 530: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments And there we have it. The toppler has ended.

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments B

Me And Emma by Elizabeth Flock
Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Crusie
Surfacing by Margaret Atwood
Murder on the Rocks (Gray Whale Inn Mystery, #1) by Karen MacInerney

Using just the books we read for the body, here's whar out date looks like. Can someone scour our other read books for possi lories? I'm on my cellphone and this is
Majorly tedious.

message 537: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I've got Berit's autocorrect on my phone too apparently.

message 538: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Tasha wrote: "what happened to the wine glass?!"

I knocked it with my book and there wasn't enough wine in it to keep it upright, nor enough reflexes at 1am to catch it. Smash :(

message 539: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments Mischief in Mudbug (Ghost-in-Law, #2) by Jana Deleon provides an alternate choice for shoes.

message 540: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Jmom's post is a bit confusing before coffee. So we only can use our body parts section? Or is she saying we can use any of our reads?

message 541: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments I think she is saying we can use any of our reads, if they have body parts, but this is a guess.

message 542: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments I've looked back through this thread for covers that have been posted. In addition to the pictures in 538 and 541, here are more possibles.

Crux (Southern Arcana, #1) by Moira Rogers
February by Lisa Moore
Thursday Night Widows by Claudia Piñeiro
Jackaby by William Ritter

I believe "Under the Skin" also had a female head, but I did not make a not of the author's name, and there are pages of books with that title.

message 543: by Casceil (last edited Feb 14, 2015 06:19PM) (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments I'm inclined toward this combination:

Jackaby by William Ritter
Crux (Southern Arcana, #1) by Moira Rogers
either Surfacing by Margaret Atwood or Thursday Night Widows by Claudia Piñeiro and
Mischief in Mudbug (Ghost-in-Law, #2) by Jana Deleon

message 544: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments So, I went back in the reporting thread and edited my book reports to be covers. Here are some I read that could fit body parts:

Face: Wreck of the Nebula Dream by Veronica Scott
Torso: Never Deal with Dragons (Never Deal with Dragons, #1) by Lorenda Christensen Crux (Southern Arcana, #1) by Moira Rogers Neanderthal Seeks Human A Smart Romance (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid

message 545: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I understood her to mean that we could use any covers fro books we've read that have head, eyes, etc. I'm thinking we have to have all parts to make our Frankenstein-like perfect date.

message 546: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments I think you're right, Janice. My set above failed to include eyes. Do we have any possibles besides Agnes and the Hitman?

message 547: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments None of the books I read had body parts on them.

message 548: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Sorry, been a bit busy today. None of mine have body parts either. I'm very happy with what you guys decide. I have a few doctors appointments and work tomorrow, so go for it.

Spreadsheet wise, just waiting on an update on Anne and Kimmey's last books. Otherwise all is totalled.

message 549: by Tasha (new)

Tasha None of the books I read had body parts either. I'm also fine with whatever combo you all decide. :)

message 550: by Tasha (new)

Tasha It's ok, don't worry. Getting sick is not something we can help. Glad you are feeling better. :)
