Currently Reading:
From my planned October books those fit this topic for me:
:
Moved further down my reading list (in the meantime):
(now
)These are only those I already had on my GR-October-shelf though there are many, many more in my Kindle October-folder and I'm really, really bad at reading books from a planned list so I hope to read them all (but don't expet it) and I'll add some more as I read them. I'll update on a regular basis.
Audrey wrote: "My copy of The Phantom Tollbooth is very shiny."If your edition is not on GR yet and you'd like me to add it, please PM me (if possible add a link to an edition with this cover or let me know if you could scan it and send it - I'd give you my e-Mail-address than). I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it this week since I caught a cold yesterday but I'll do my best.
Wind, Sand and Stars - Antoine de Saint-ExupéryAll the silvery bits are shiny silver foil, like stars.
However, I will be reading this for OctoberBunny Lake is Missing - Evelyn Piper
and as a photographer, i love the way the photograph on the cover has been artfully shot in the falling light, with her skin in its brilliance.

It looks like this. I don't know if this is the exact edition; it's doesn't have a barcode or isbn."
I do apology Audrey. Your cover is much more prettier than the one I found. Thank you for the update. Enjoy Reading, 📚
Audrey wrote: "It's a very fast book and is made up of plays on words."Thank you Audrey. I think I will put this on my TBR and try to read it before year-end. Enjoy Reading, 📚

I'm glad you found your edition. Even if books don't have barcodes you can find the ISBN (at least ISBN10 for older books) on the copyright page. As far as I've seen in the past there are only a few exceptions to the ISBN - in Germany these were book club publishers where they wanted to see if there's any interest in this book before they decided to generate one (or not) and a few very small independent publications (mostly for churches, non-profit organisations or similar groups)
Since I didn't finish
yesterday I can add it here. I read this classic several years ago in German (from my library) and loved it so much I wanted to re-read it in English and found this in-expensive copy. Only when I downloaded the book yesterday I noticed it's an illustrated edition and for the very first time thought it adds to the reading experience.

I just finished
another of my books I expected to finish in September (even if they didn't fit a challenge) only to realise it fits here :-DIt's a very intense Christian living book. I struggled with it because I've seen how much work I'm still facing in my life and that's not something I like to be aware of. I'm sure it's not the last time I've read it. Looking back all of his books are that way and any I grabbed fit perfectly the issues I was working on at that time in my spiritual life - I only hope I'll mange to make the changes I want work long-term and I'll see the effects more visibly this time.
