I typically read around 12 books a month, though this month has been crazy and I've been reading a lot more. ;)

After reading the other replies, I may not be a good fit for the game. Lol If I don't get to play, I would understand. No hard feelings. :)

Yay! Thank you! Head over to the Watson thread. I will gladly answer any questions you have. :D

With the pegs, getting a white peg means that we have a correct color, but it's in the wrong spot. A black peg means we have a correct color in the right spot. ;)

Hi Sharon! The need for a replacement player has been filled by Brittany, but I will add you to the back-up list and contact you should the need for another replacement player arise. I'm sure we'll be doing another round of this challenge later in the year, too :)

How to Play
Teams will be given a code to solve, each team's code will be different. They then will make a guess at the code by using five pegs (there are eight different colors - see below). The players in the team will then each take a color, for which they will read and review a book. Once all books have been read and reviewed, the team's guess will be answered (see below to learn more about how answering works). If the team didn't solve the puzzle, they will continue to make guesses in the same fashion until they do. The first team to solve their code wins!
The Peg Colors
Black: Read a book with a cover featuring black as a prominent color; or a book with the title, author's first or last name, series, or one of the main character's first or last name beginning with B.
Blue: Read a book with a cover featuring blue as a prominent color; or a book with the title, author's first or last name, series, or one of the main character's first or last name beginning with B.
Brown: Read a book with a cover featuring brown as a prominent color; or a book with the title, author's first or last name, series, or one of the main character's first or last name beginning with B.
Green: Read a book with a cover featuring green as a prominent color; or a book with the title, author's first or last name, series, or one of the main character's first or last name beginning with G.
Orange: Read a book with a cover featuring orange as a prominent color; or a book with the title, author's first or last name, series, or one of the main character's first or last name beginning with O.
Red: Read a book with a cover featuring red as a prominent color; or a book with the title, author's first or last name, series, or one of the main character's first or last name beginning with R.
White: Read a book with a cover featuring white as a prominent color; or a book with the title, author's first or last name, series, or one of the main character's first or last name beginning with W.
Yellow: Read a book with a cover featuring yellow as a prominent color; or a book with the title, author's first or last name, series, or one of the main character's first or last name beginning with Y.
How Answering Work
0-5 key pegs may be given on a turn.
For each peg that is the correct color but in the wrong location, a white key peg will be placed.
For each peg that is the correct color and in the correct location, a black key peg will be placed.
Example:
So if you receive 3 key pegs (1 black & 2 white), this means that three of your colors are correct, but that only one of them is in the correct location. Black key pegs will always be placed first.
Book Requirements:
❀Must be 100+ pages
❀May be read in any format (print, ebook, audio, etc.)
❀Manga, Comics, graphic novels, cookbooks, etc. are not allowed.
❀You may reread a book for the challenge, it's not preferred but it is allowed. The book must be read in it's entirety, not just skimmed. You may not, however, reread a book that you used already for this challenge.
❀All books used for the challenge MUST be started AFTER the team decides what their guess is going to be. If you realize a book you've already started would be a perfect fit for the challenge, you may restart it and then it will count - but only if you restart it.
The signups for this challenge will close January 28, 2015 and teams will be created soon after that date. The challenge will begin on February 1, 2015.
To signup, leave a comment below stating how many books you usually read a month. This is so I can try and make the teams equal. :)
