Ingo (ilembcke) | 669 comments Greatly enjoyed The Forbidden Game when I read not too long ago and will probably read it again.
The first book was published 1994 (Goodreads, did not check elsewhere), does that sound right?
The covers shown vary widely, if you want to check covers, klick on "all editions".
The first book:
The Hunter
The Hunter (The Forbidden Game, #1) by L.J. Smith

If you want to buy it, I suggest getting the Omnibus-Edition of all three books.
The Forbidden Game
The Forbidden Game (The Forbidden Game, #1-3) by L.J. Smith

Both Zathura and the first book Jumanji sound interesting (saw the movie a few years ago) and are added to my Kindle wishlist.

The Game of Sunken Places by M.T. Anderson (2004)?

Ruby, around what year did you read this book?
Is it for children or teens?
About how many kids (boys or girls) played the game? From the same or different families?
What do you remember about the board game - and what it's like when they enter the game? What kind of dangers do they encounter?
