Bone Secrets, Callahan & McLane, and Columbia Series Buddy Read - Beginning Oct. 2020

After reading & enjoying Kendra Elliot's title Vanished, we learned the Callahan & McLane series is a spin-off of the Bones Secrets series AND Elliott's new series, Columbia River also features these characters and is intertwined. We'll follow the author's posted reading order via her website. *See note below. We would love for you to join us! We'll read one a month starting with Hidden in Oct. Let's plan to open discussions around the 18th of each month.

Also good to know that Mercy & Truman take the lead again in the 3rd series book per Elliott. I'm guessing that means in In The Pines. It'll take us awhile to get there, but I think it'll be worth the wait! lol

I’ve read the first book in Bone Secrets and enjoyed it, though I had some issues with the pacing. Always intended to continue the series and as a recent fan of Mercy Kilpatrick, I know this author gets better as a writer.

I’m definitely in! FYI, I captured the character lists from Shelfari for the entire Bone Secrets series. It will help us deal with crossover between the three.

Awesome! I hadn't realized these 3 series crossed over until I started doing a bit of researching. I know it's a ways off to get to the Columbia River series, but I look forward to being with Mercy & Truman again! I loved that series.

Yes, you can Sandy. We'd love to have you join us. This is the correct reading order. It's the reason I went back to the beginning & posted these series in the author's suggested reading order.

I've read Kendra Elliot all out of order, and loved them all. This is her first series and should be an excellent start.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. First series!!! Yay. Got Kindle unlimited so I could participate. Does anyone know how you return the books you read on KU?

BTW - KU is 30 dollars for the first 6 months to new people here in the US I believe.

Sandy - you can have as many as 10 KU books at a time. When you request the 11th one, it'll ask you to return one in order to get the new one and show you the list of books you have. You just scroll down the list & click on a "return" under the book you're ready to let go back. It will then allow you to accept another book. I never worry about returning one until I'm wanting another one & it prompts me to return one.

I read this series a few years ago. I'll chime in if I can recall the details of the stories. This author's writing gets stronger with each book. I'm looking forward to her new book featuring Mercy and Truman.

I agree that her writing gets stronger as the books develop. I've read several of her later books & loved them. But you know - getting better as time goes by is true for most writers. :)

Yes, Sandy. It is the thread for Hidden although I'm thinking I may need to open a thread for each book in this folder so things remain clear and separated as we move through more books. Me too. With so many books to read & discuss, we've got to be able to find each one & discuss without spoilers for others I think. I will say I enjoyed this intro to the series and am looking forward to discussing and reading more.
