Nice to see some more about Charlie and why Charlie is Charlie but most of the book just seemed off. I did like the romance between Jack and Oscar which was nice and there's setup for the next set of books. I think the books prior and after are concurrent to this one so sometimes that was a little hard to track but overall, it was good.

Review:
This series is always steady, I haven't loved the last few books as much as I did the earlier books in the series, but they still keep me entertained and I still love Mercy and Adam. We get to see some of my old favorites like Wulfe and Zee, but I still want more of Stefan and Mercy.

How It Fits: #5 Girl in the Box series
Review
This series continues to throw surprises at you although this installment didn’t have as much punch as others in the series. Sienna and the Directorate are preparing to defend an imminent attack from Omega. This installment felt like pieces were being moved into play that will become apparent in future books. Why is Sienna the key? Who is the mysterious Josh? Will have to read the next one in the series to find out.

As always, the silly over the top antics of these shifters made me laugh. There's some creepy, gruesome stuff going on in the background but it's still an easy-going read. I loved Crush's inner dialogue, especially at the beginning when he was attracted to Cella but also repelled by her chaos. Fun read and I'll be looking for the next one shortly.

This is one of those books I really thought I'd love more than I did. It was still an enjoyable, quirky, fun read...I just wasn't as vested in their relationship as I should have, and can't pinpoint why. I do know that I need to move to Hudson Valley though, they seem to have all the sweet, lovable fella's.

This is an interesting take on a magical and steampunk world. This book, more than the first two, felt more true historical, but towards the second half, more of the steampunk aspect came in. I wasn't sure how the romance between the MCs would progress because Astrid seemed so close off and I wondered that she would be able to open up or if we'd spend the book with her refusing her feelings. But circumstances were such that she was forced to face herself and her fears and this left things open for the romance to develop. There's lots of adventure to advance the overall series storyline and I'm looking forward to Catellus' book and the conclusion.

Eh. The characters annoyed me A LOT and I had a hard time with the lack of respect DH seemed to have for Paige's relationship. The best part about the whole book was the book nerd references but that wasn't enough to save the story for me. I wanted more of the side characters honestly. Disappointing but not enough to keep me from reading the rest of this author's work.

I really enjoyed this book and it reminded me of the film sliding doors. Rachel is struggling to come to terms with the death of her best friend in an accident 5 years previously, leaving her scarred physically and emotionally. When she blacks out due to debilitating headaches she suffers from due to the head injury she sustained in the accident she awakens in a parallel world where her recollection of the past 5 years are completely different to the recollection of the people around her. This a nice mix of romance and science fiction where the author takes us on a journey and leaves us guessing.

I think we're waiting on your completion for the one word title task.

Here is Task 8:53. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task.
Select a teammate and everyone reads a book set in their hometown. You can use the state if within the US or the country outside of the US. Remember to let me know how you know the book qualifies - from the book details, in the title, series, from the precis, tags or lists. I need to know where to look to confirm your books. Include any info and links as necessary. Please include the teammate and their hometown in your completion posts.
Indianapolis unless we want to go with my state of Maryland since nothing is set in the town I live in.

Apparently my brain is still in high alert status and didn't read fully, I can do any of the states (thought it was city...whew!)I do have a few Indiana...could also read the series that Louise had for her area.
The Charley Davidson series is set in Albuquerque - we could read from that series? Or, based on the rules we could choose Louise and all read a book set in England - unless I read it wrong..."You can use the state if within the US or the country outside of the US."

I’ve got audios for Indiana or New Mexico ready to go.
For me the New Mexico is short - I'm on the last novella The Graveyard Shift so could knock it out quick.Another alternative I forgot about with Indianapolis/Indiana is this series Kathleen Turner which is a pretty good RS series set in Indy.

It was lovely to re-visit the world of Charley Davidson and have some of the lingering questions answered. Poor Garrett needed an HEA, so he got one. We also got a peek at an older Beep - who, of course, is just like her mother. And lastly, Charley and Reyes settle down to watch Beep grow up. Here's hoping we get future peeks at the adventures Beep will have and the final show down is yet to come. Maybe this will all happen in the spin-off series starting next year with Amber and Quentin.

So I listened to this today as I continued to cry tears of joy all morning. So I feel bad that this book had to deal with my emotions of this important day. But at the same time, I felt so great to be reading a book by a Native American woman on a day when we have elected a woman of color as the Vice President of our country (she is intelligent and competent). True awesomeness!
I love the diversity of the native american stories that I've been around all my life living in New Mexico take a new shape in an urban fantasy environment, it was fresh and unique to have those woven in. So I really enjoyed that part of the story, where I had trouble was really getting into the main characters, I had trouble making that emotional connection with Maggie...I'm thinking that I may attain this further in the series because I will continue this.

The Law Is a Lady by Nora Roberts
Page Count: 300
Date Read: 11/8
Rating: 4*
This is the first book I’ve read by this author writing as Nora Roberts and I really enjoyed it. The chemistry between the main characters. Considering the era this was originally published it was nice to see a female in a powerful role. Tori is a sassy heroine who makes the hero Phil work. Definitely will read more from this author under this pen name

Review:
After the past few Charley Davidson books, it was good to see Jones back in full form. Sunshine and Auri are a fun mother/daughter duo and I have a lot of questions about the characters in the book and their relationships after reading this one. Nice mystery, I suspected the wrong person most of the book. Definitely will continue.
