so I play this game several times a month with my friends, but we've been sporadic since this quarantine. We're playing tonight on ZoomThe game is called BUNCO has anyone played?
The reason I'm mentioning it though is just that I won't have time to listen to a book tonight. I'll try and get as far as I can with Alaska Hunt (it's pretty boring so far lol so I'm listening 2x speed)
Janeylou wrote: "Amanda, how is the house coming along, is it all sorted yet ?"It’s coming along! Lol. We’ve actually got everything unpacked and sorted except for my reading room (!!! At me having my own reading room lol). I have about 600 books (most from before my switch to MM, but I have slowly been building that collection) that I really don’t want to unpack because it makes my arms sore lol and I have to decide if I want new bookshelves because mine are pretty cheap

I’ve never played, what is it?
And no worries, I’m probably starting my audiobook tomorrow since I’ve gotten rehooked into a true crime podcast (TERRIBLE idea when you buy a new house and don’t know the sounds that are normal yet lol). I’m very excited for the audiobook after seeing your review though
it's a very silly dice game with 12 ladies. You play in groups of 4 and switch groups after one team makes it to 21. At the end we total up our points and give out prizes - everyone pays $20 to play. We've been doing it since my middle guy was 7 and he's 22, but it was much more fun before quarantine. We took turns hosting and put out wine and snacks. It's a great chance to catch up with people I don't get to see often anymore.

I always wanted a window seat , we have one at cottage but its only tiny so when sit on it i have to face the bedroom ☹

An okay read....
I have no specific criticism just that the story was rather uneventful, getting boring. The MCs Ben, a nurse, and Gage, a college teacher, both have issues with trust resulting from past experiences. Which is an interesting stylistic device but in my opinion all the drama around Ben's nervous reticence, all the "no biker" "no adrenaline junkie" has been played too much here.
While I found Gage caring and sweet, Ben came across rather frustrating and in one occasion even selfish.
So overall this book couldn't convince me to read more of this "new to me author" but to be fair I'll give them a second try when one of their books fits one of my challenges.

That was a highly unusual romance novel for me. Focused mainly on the mystery of the bears - sections even are told from the bears' points of view - it's an interesting story, just a bit involved.
The positive was that John Solo does a really nice performance. He builds the excitement as the story progresses, and kept my interest as well as anyone possibly could have done.
Everybody saw the post on the Challenge Thread about only getting one last task? We just keep reading and adding up our page counts... at least I think that's the dealio.

Review: I'm having a hard time reviewing this one. I liked it, but for some reason my attention just kept wandering. I'm going to try it again at another time and hopefully then I'll be able to review better. I will say there was A LOT of sex and it was overwhelming at times.

Review: Not my favorite in the series, but definitely a good addition. I absolutely Eamon and felt for all his insecurities and just wanted him to be loved. Unfortunately, that's probably the one part of the book that didn't work as well for me. I didn't feel like there was really love between Eamon and Dylan, at least not to the extent I wanted.

I think i may have gone off this series a little ..this is bk 11 so ive read quite a few and i much preferred the earlier books in the series .Roan & Ten have settled down now and think theres more focussed on the family instead of the mystery.

This was a pleasant surprise..i loved the cover for this ..it so suited Elvis .
Elvis manages a fancy shoe shop in an English Shopping Center, and basically he falls for the owner of the center ..but they are both so sweet .and i laughed loads
Definitely worth reading over the festive season
Oh no Amanda, I'm sorry you didn't love Best Laid Plaids - lol there is a lot of sex, you're right about that.

I honestly could tell it was more in just my general mood, so I think if I read it again I might love it. I think I was just distracted and all over the place lol

Here is your LAST TASK!Read a book written by an authors whose initials are both in the first half of the alphabet (A-M) or both in the second half of the alphabet (N-Z). No pass for this task.
Books selected for this task have to be written by authors whose initials are wholly contained in either first half or the second half of the alphabet. You do not have to decide on first half or second half as a team. Each book just needs to fall into one or the other to work. If the author uses a middle name or initial, it must also fall into the same half of the alphabet as initials of the first and last names. Examples of qualifying authors would be Lorelei James, Amy Lane and Nora Roberts. Authors that would not qualify would include J.D. Robb, Sawyer Bennett and Sloane Kennedy. Also Jennifer L. Armentrout would work, but Susan Elizabeth Phillips would not. Each teammate must complete a book that qualifies for the team to complete the task. Additional books will add to the team's page count total in case a tiebreaker is needed. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.
oh good, I've been looking for the chance to listen to Burn and it works for another challenge too - I'll probably go with that, though Think of England works as well.

Trio wrote: "oh good, I've been looking for the chance to listen to Burn and it works for another challenge too - I'll probably go with that, though Think of England works as well."Why not both?? Lol. I’m lucky because I have like 10 arcs to read and/or listen too and I think 9 of them fit so hopefully I’ll be able to post a couple. It ends Saturday right?

What a double whammy - first audiobook narrated by Kenneth Obi that I've listened to since his death :( one of my favorite narrators, Obi has a special place in my heart since I was one of initial beta listeners.
Also, a fantastic end to a series I was almost sad to see end. Nora Phoenix outdoes herself with this one, and not to be mean, but I never expected a story with this much depth to it from her. Really something special.
yes - depending on when we actually end the challenge, I'm going to start Seance on a Summer's Night.

from the Q&A thread:The challenge ends at midnight Sunday US EST - the END of the day Sunday on the US east coast.
Completion posts must be made before the challenge ends to count!
So I've got time to at least add one more book, maybe even two.
Dang, I'm going to miss you gals :(

Review: AHHH. I can’t believe it’s the end of this amazing series. This book was nonstop action and an absolute page turner, making it a perfect ending. I’m going to actually keep my review pretty short because I don’t want to spoil a single one of the absolutely amazing twists and turns. I will say I’m so so so happy with Diesel’s HEA, it was so well deserved. And the end of all this crazy drama, it was wonderful getting to see all the alphas and their mates celebrate and live in peace.

Review: Look, I don’t know if I could’ve been more excited for a book, which is always slightly terrifying, but I should’ve known Lindsey wouldn’t let me down. They have a way of just writing these characters that others may have written off as damaged, but even when they are or they think they are, they’re so incredibly loveable, relatable, and just human. This book felt like both instalove and slow burn, and it’ll make sense when you read it how it can be both, but no matter what you classify it as, it was absolutely beautiful. Seeing Frederic and Ilan learn to love themselves and each other was just such a joy, even when you could literally feel their heartache. These two might just be my favorite Lindsey couple ever, and that’s saying something!
