Finished a book! Highly recommend A House at the Bottom of a Lake
Going to submit N as my letter guess, I think the title might be The Sweeney Sisters

There was an H... sorry about that. I always forget about the letters in the word THE. Y'all are eligible to guess your second puzzle.
How does the title guessing work? I think I know the title of the second puzzle but haven't read enough to make a guess. Can I post my thoughts here?
Edie what do you think it is? The last one I posted my idea and a few teammates agreed and luckily Nancy saw I forgot the “the” then I posted it on the guessing thread.
If we post on the guessing thread and guess wrong we lose our next guess and if we are right we get a puzzle.
You all are awesome. I have finished On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous so we can have another guess. Emily is done for the night but someone can guess a letter. Since it is something about a place, the 2-letter word might be of and the first word might be The
We are on to puzzle 4! I'm going to be offline most of day. So, I cannot wait to see what progress we make on the next puzzle.
I finished The Thinnest Air, and since the titles start with The I'll go ahead and get that T on the board.

Great job again! I even read that book not long ago but didn't think of immediately.

Looking at the puzzle I never would have figured that out, so great job indeed! So the T in puzzle 4 got us nowhere. Sigh.

It was "poetic" (the author is primarily a poet) and it must be largely autobiographical even though it is fiction. I personally like longer, meatier books so I gave it 3 stars. I'm sure others would appreciate it more. It is fast, only took me 2-3 hours to read.

So, I go away, finish a book an come back and someone has already solved the puzzle. Again. :P Go Team!Anyways, I finished Things My Son Needs to Know about the World. I'm going to guess an R.
I finished On a Pale Horse. Should we wait for the R and S to be applied before guessing another at random?
SarahKat, I'd recommend waiting until we know about the S & R. You will probably be able to make a better guess of what letter to pick next once we know those.

That fits! I really didn't like that book, unfortunately, it was so grim and it tells you right upfront that there is no happy ending. But it would have been a hard one to guess with the unusual name Wao.

PUZZLE 5: RHYME TIME
The puzzle is a phrase with rhyming words in it or a list of thematically similar things whose names rhyme. In this case, the book title will have a rhyme or alliteration within the title.

I'm starting to think that maybe the words are going to have less of the popular letters to guess to make it harder.
I looked back through the thread and I think everyone has had a chance to guess so the next guess is open for anyone to use. Do we want to stick with the common ones "S", "R", or "N" or does someone have a different one to try?
I finished The Grammarians, so I will guess S.I'll let someone else decide on the group guess, and then we can post both at once.
I finished the audiobook The Christmas Hirelings. I'm not sure what to guess, this is a weird title with 2 2-letter words
I finished Little House in the Big Woods (as my binary opposite to A House at the Bottom of a Lake.
I think we are going to need an F. "The *blanking* *blank* of *blank*" type title, possibly? N would be a good bet too.

Oh that's definitely it, skip all the normal letters, guess a W and a Z, just as a power move.
