Errlee | 183 comments I also just finished a book (Rogue Protocol), so that’s another guess. Will log pages in the morning.

message 52: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments I'm up for an early conference call. I will guess N.

message 53: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Sorry team, no N's :( I'll let someone else try the next guess. I was thinking the puzzle could start "the wife of the" but not sure there are any books that go that way.

message 54: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) I will guess an R.

message 55: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) We seem to be lagging behind. I noticed the other teams are on puzzles three and four. Maybe we should guess more than one letter if we don't solve with the R.

I am obviously not a good solver, but I expect some of you will do it rather quickly if we can get a few letters up.

Sara (phantomswife) The Lady of the Rivers?

message 57: by Jen K (last edited Sep 14, 2020 07:13AM) (new)

Jen K | 572 comments That's a great guess! It looks like the series name involves cousins/ family? Let's ask for an L next?

message 58: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments We can totally catch up as we have lots of guesses banked up to use.

message 59: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) That was right! So, we should have Puzzle 3 soon.

PUZZLE THREE: ON THE MAP
This puzzle includes cities, countries, and any other specific named geographical feature. In this case, it will be a book title that contains a location, fictional or real.

message 61: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Great work Sara!!!

Let's get started with the next one. Shall we guess T and S?

message 62: by Karissa (new)

Karissa | 440 comments Awesome guess! T and S seem like good starting letters and I requested on the guess thread.

message 63: by Karissa (new)

Karissa | 440 comments Puzzle was updated. Anyone want to request another letter or two? We still have 5 available guesses.

message 64: by Jen K (last edited Sep 14, 2020 08:26AM) (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Awesome!! I'm thinking The Ghost? of [place name}

Shall I guess an H? or stick to the usual first letters?

Edited- no S in the second word

message 65: by Errlee (new)

Errlee | 183 comments I just added my book and pages from yesterday so think we have another guess as well. I can't keep up! Was shocked to come home from dropping my son at school to see the second puzzle solved!

message 66: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Let's guess R and N?

message 67: by Errlee (new)

Errlee | 183 comments Go for it!

message 68: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) The Count of Monte Cristo?

message 69: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Yes!!! Sara, you slaying these puzzles!!

I think we need one more letter guess to solve the puzzle. Guess C and the answer?

message 70: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Done. My husband is looking at me as if to say "stop playing and fix lunch" so I am off to do just that. I'll check in later this afternoon to see how you guys are doing. Have fun.

message 71: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Enjoy! When we get the next puzzle, I can put in for S and T.

Hopefully I will manage to finish 2 books tonight for more guesses.

PUZZLE 4: THINGS
These book titles will all start with the word "The".

message 73: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Wow, the S and T did not help much!

message 74: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Harris | 1502 comments Wow. You all are slaying it. I wake up this morning & we’re on puzzle #2. I had to take my mom to a scheduled Dr appointment. I come back & your on puzzle #4. You all are the greatest puzzle solvers. I have 134 pages left in my current read. I will focus on reading till dinner time I hope.

message 75: by Karissa (new)

Karissa | 440 comments Yeah S and T were no help. I will put in a guess for N. I think we will still have 1 guess left afterwards if anyone wants to guess another letter.

message 76: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Harris | 1502 comments Question. Since I was gone most of today when I came home I only read recent posts to catch up. How come there isn’t a vowel on the board? Are we no longer getting a vowel or any vowel? I missed that part of the explanation I guess.

message 77: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11201 comments Mod
I just gave you a vowel on the first post to start you off (especially because that was the longest puzzle for most teams). No more vowels from here on out!

message 78: by Karissa (new)

Karissa | 440 comments So I guessed an N, but she gave us 2 Rs lol. I'll take it.

message 79: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11201 comments Mod
...WHOOPS.

message 80: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Does that mean there are no N's?

message 81: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11201 comments Mod
No, I just filled in the Rs instead of the Ns. Doing too many things at once, of course lol.

message 82: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Harris | 1502 comments I think we have 1 guess left if someone wants to guess N.

message 83: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Emily wrote: "No, I just filled in the Rs instead of the Ns. Doing too many things at once, of course lol."

No worries, this one is a lot on you!

I re-guessed an N.

message 84: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Okay, I finished my 2 books, Digital Minimalism: Choosing a Focused Life in a Noisy World and A Long Petal of the Sea.

Also, I think the answer to puzzle #4 is The Perks of Being a Wallflower. If anyone concurs, please feel free to submit.

message 85: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Wow, Jen. Two books and a great guess! I will happily submit it. I did very little reading today, but hopefully a little before bed and perhaps more time tomorrow.

PUZZLE 5: RHYME TIME
The puzzle is a phrase with rhyming words in it or a list of thematically similar things whose names rhyme. In this case, the book title will have a rhyme or alliteration within the title.

message 87: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Harris | 1502 comments I finished The Friend by Sigrid Nunez
I added it to the spreadsheet.

message 88: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Good morning! The spreadsheet doesn't show any yellow spots but we should have 4 guesses remaining so I will start us off with a T.

message 89: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Good morning to you, as well. Glad to see you got us started. I hope I have a better reading day today. I suspect I will just be contributing pages and not completely finishing anything.

I'll guess an N and see if that gives us any hints.

message 90: by Jen K (last edited Sep 15, 2020 06:00AM) (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Let's try again! S or R?

I will be pages only as well after finishing 2 yesterday.

message 91: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Harris | 1502 comments I finished a book last night before bed. I put it on the spreadsheet. I never saw where we had any quests for this puzzle. Does the 4 guesses left include the guess for my book?

message 92: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Harris | 1502 comments I just looked. We have 2 guesses.

message 93: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Sounds good, Jen. Guess either letter you like-- S or R will work.

message 94: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Terrific that you finished a book, Sherri. That will give us another guess.

message 95: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Okay. I will go with an R.

message 96: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) I think it is "The War of the Worlds"

but have we guessed enough to be allowed to solve the puzzle?

message 97: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Woohoo! Glad I picked R. I messed this up earlier. I think the minimum is 4 guesses.

message 98: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) So I am going to guess a W and solve, which means I need to start reading and stop playing so that we can build some guesses for the next puzzle. :)

Ha ha, yes! We had a great run!
