Team Pie and Prejudice

Well kool-aid would definitely be considered a juice. Smoothies I'm thinking juice as well since they can be made with juice. The chocolate milk though I'm not sure about. I did see in the question forum that the mods would take iced-tea as a soda for teenagers since it has caffeine and sugar so I suppose they could take chocolate milk as a juice for kids.

don't forget the title and the first & last name of the author count too!

The Princess Trials was really good. I thought it was going to be typical YA sappy but it's got a lot more edge to it!
Just finished Ember Queen. I liked the other books better but i can't NOT read the last book of a trilogy haha. Definitely worth tying up the loose ends.

Vamp books are very in season haha. I don't think I've read anything with vamps since Discovery of Witches. Let us know if you really like any!

now that it's been a bit, how are you feeling about the challenge?

Make sure to use at least 1 food item or spell-it-out from each book. If a book is unused, we'll be deducted points. Nothing is allowed to be added or switched around once the round ends.
And as a reminder, the round ends this Saturday the 17th at 9pm UTC time. Which is:
10pm London
5pm New York
4pm Dallas
2pm San Francisco
Which brings me to the question, where is everyone from? I'm in Arizona, US :)
Oh and one last thing; the challenge page was updated with a "food critic" that will be scoring each restaurant for:
* Names of the dishes served
* Ability to feed all customers
* Low food wastage
* Name and description of restaurant
Depending on our score, we'll have a chance to attract more adults to the restaurant.

I'm not sure if we'll score better with the food critic if our meals follow a theme. I've just been using the names of recipes I've found online. Maybe out restaurant description could be something along the lines of "we don't follow the rules of society so we'll serve whatever we want, and don't be so hasty to judge our food".

Thanks, Jenn - I just fixed those. I didn’t realize it had to be either/or.
BTW, I’m from Northeast Ohio.

Good idea. I'd hate for us to lose out on points because we have books listed that we didn't use.

I like that idea. It's whatever takes our fancy.

Sorry about that. I should have been more specific when I explained the rules. At least you were able to fix it.

I know we're close to our total number. We can replace #28 - Dear Laura if we need to.
I'm in Atlanta, Ga!

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single person in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a good meal. So we prepare a variety of meals from around the world. After all there is no enjoyment like tasting a meal from a world unlike your own. How much sooner one tires of the same food over and over. When you go back to your home, you shall be miserable if you have not an excellent, varied menu such as ours.

No. Books for round 2 have to be started on round 2's start date and time unfortunately. Round 2 begins as soon as round 1 ends.

I think this ends in a little over an hour, correct? I haven’t seen an update yet for Kim’s book so it still shows an unfinished, so I think we should go ahead and fill in that posting with a completed book. Jenn, if you want to fill in your manga, that’s great, and if not, I have a book that I finished this morning that would work.

Yeah it's ending soon. I've been watching the spreadsheet to see if she manages to swoop in at the last minute with her book finished. My manga will give us 4 ingredients, would your book give us more than that?

Oh so close lol! But don't worry about it :)

Is there a window of time the customers need to “eat” by?

Who would like to feed the people?

Who would like to feed the people?"
Oops, I didn't realize we'd select someone. I noticed the spreadsheet was updated so I started doing it. Would someone else like to do it instead?

I see that we have 160 customers, and only 151 meals, so assuming we are able to allocate everything we are going to be short 9 meals for customers.
This says to me for Round 2 we need to try to read more 300+ and 500+ page books, to maximize those 8 and 12 meal ingredients. Just my thoughts.

It's a 24hr readathon.

Nusha hasn't participated since she joined. Did everyone want to find a replacement member for her? Or message her first and see?
Vianvamp, I've never heard of the Dewey's readathon before. What is it about?

https://deweysreadathon.wordpress.com...
It's a 24 readathon where everyone starts at the exact same time. They also do an instagram challenge. I like it because everyone really is doing the challenge together, and there's encouragement and book talk across social media platforms.

Nusha hasn't participated since she joined. Did everyone want to find a replacement member for her? Or message her first and see?
I'm fine either way. At this point she's been gone for two weeks so is she really still participating? We might as well put feelers out into the looking group.

I've actually been wanting to ask you about a book you've read. The Princess Trials, was it any good? I've seen an equal amount of reviews of people either loving it or hating it so I wasn't sure about reading it. I also saw that you read Ember Queen, which reminded me that I haven't read it yet despite how much I loved the first two books lol!
