First up is two "Maggie for Hire" Holiday specials. Maggie's up to her usual dimension-walking, world-saving ways.
First up is "The NutMacker Sweet," a riff on the Christmas play. The rats have broken into the real world. Maggie and Killian must enter the world of the Nutcracker Suite and set it right. Of course this involves bringing the magic of the play into the real world, leaving a place for kids to engage their imagination and creativity.
Next is "Luck of the McKays" where a Leprechaun is on an unapproved trip to the real world. He's a menace...or is he actually trying to save Earth from a rampaging Dearg-Due, a wronged soul who will suck the souls from city's worth of men to feed her hunger. Or maybe she can be convinced to go to a nice cozy grave if handled correctly. Includes a gallumphing Irish Wolfhound as helper animal and all around cute as hell canine. Plus, well, it's St. Patty's Day, so drinking!

I decided to give The Eye of the World a re-read.
I think I first read it about 10 years ago and really didn't like it.
Re-reading it has made me a little more accepting of the book but I'm still not convinced that the fuss from the manic fans is worth it.
The length of each book and the author's attempt at a 14 book series is certainly impressive but I think I can wait the year or two that it will take to reach The Great Hunt on my TBR list.
