Michelle I've given several 1 star reviews, unfortunately. This only happen on the rare occasion I wasn't able to find even one redeemable quality in the book but managed to finish it anyway.
You're better than me. If I felt that way I wouldn't even finish th ebook. But I understand. Those are usually the ones I top and tail( read the first few chapter and then the last few chapter)

I enjoyed it much more than expected and I'm looking forward to reading more of her books.

Outstanding, Christina💜
Foster is hit or miss for me, too, so I’ve backburnered her for the time being. Love that you loved The Highwayman, as did most of us in the discussion.
About Yarros...I’ve skirted around her books for the past year. Why won’t you recommend her?

Michelle, I echo Laura’s sentiments. You’re insightful and I make a point of reading your comments. Don’t worry about what others may think...they’re your thoughts and perceptions and that’s what matters here on this site.
Write away!!!💜

Hold over from my days as a singer. We'd do that with concert contents. Just a quick run through. Top and tail a song

And then when I feel comfortable I'll make it my reviews

This book in particular made me ugly cry at least twice. The heroine was brutalized by fate over and over again and had the book ended at the 75% mark it would have been enough and satisfying. Unfortunately Yarros didn't stop. The heroine went from a strong woman, mother of twins, to a woman I could not identify with because after she went through one bad thing after another and then another and another yet all I felt for her was sorry. It was just too much for me and because of that I can't recommend this book or her.
