Jess | 13 comments Okay, so basically everything I remember about this book series is in the title because unfortunately I remember only vague details:

- I read it as a young teen so I'm guessing somewhere 2010-2015, and am also guessing it was published around then or only a little earlier, it was definitely fairly modern.
- Book series (I can remember at least 3 books I think)
- It was written in a diary style so with entries and dates and all that jazz
- Age rating I would put on the young-ish side of young adult. There was romance but it was fairly tame from memory.
- Main character was in school (high school I think)
- She was an aspiring fashion designer
- I think one of the books was about her designing costumes for a school play
- He wasn't the main love interest (if there was one) but I definitely remember her having a crush on a character called Wayne Roman (I remember because she's all like "oh wayne roman, wayne roman, wherefor art thou wayne roman" and her friend pipes up like "do you even know what that means?")
- I think in one of the books she got to go overseas (Paris maybe) as part of a prize from winning a fashion design comp.
- There may have been illustrations? Fashion drawings mostly.

I know a lot of things I've said are pretty vague and I only think some of them happen so if you know of a book series that hits some of these but not all, please let me know anyway because I could be confusing some of the details. Thanks guys :)

Unfortunately no. I did read the Dork Diary books around the same time but these were different. Thanks though.

Jess | 13 comments I think the M/C in the series I'm looking for is a little older than the books being suggested.

I'm like 95% sure it's set in the U.S. but that 5% could have been Australia. I checked Cathy Hopkins books and none of them looked right though.

Unfortunately not. Thanks tho.

Taylor | 149 comments Was the cover of the book part of a dress? I may have read a similar series at one point where each of the three books had part of a dress on the cover and when combined, they made a full dress

I don't really remember tbh. I think one of the covers was purple but I couldn't be 100% sure. What series are you thinking of?

Taylor | 149 comments I’m fairly certain that was the Once Upon a Prom series by Jeanine Le Ny, but now that I’m looking back over it, I don’t think the MC was a fashion designer— just into fashion.

Yeah definitely not that series unfortunately, but thanks for trying :)

Here's the Amazon summary of book #3 which mentions the all-important Wayne Roman.

This is Lucy Jessica Hartley bringing you a very important newsflash!!! I have just been asked to style a boy band for a charity concert at school! I'm mega-excited about it - shame that Wayne Roman, the lead singer, is such a totally horrible big-head. Anyway, I've got billions of ideas for the band's stage gear, so I'd better go and get started! Byeeeeee! Share the sizzling secrets of very-nearly-teenager Lucy Jessica Hartley as magic spells, mad dads and massive crushes all stand in the way of her styling success!
