How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf, #1) by Molly Harper
How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf by Molly Harper
Rating: 3 stars
This was a cute PNR between a human girl, Mo, and a werewolf, Cooper. Mo moves to Alaska to escape her irritating hippie parents. When she gets to the small town in Alaska, she finds a job, makes friends and falls in love with a grumpy, broody werewolf. There’s a mystery going on, with people getting killed by a mysterious wolf.
I found the beginning to be really slow, the romance between Mo and Cooper took forever, so it took me a while to warm up to the story. I liked both Mo and Cooper, Mo was especially quirky and loveable. It took me longer to like Cooper. The setting in Alaska was delightful, and the secondary characters were all mostly adorable, except for Mo’s parents which I found extremely annoying, and Maggie, Cooper’s sister. I liked the way the mysterious wolf issue was resolved, and Mo’s thoughts and comments made me laugh.

Review:
Another scary Halloween read. Josh is a former rock star who is still famous and rich. He's known to connect dark memorabilia, and when his assistant points out a ghost up for bid, Josh has to have it. The story immediately takes a dark turn. The ghost is scary and malicious, and as Josh discovers how they are connected, the tension increases. as does the damage. Josh's girlfriend "Georgia" is also involved, and I liked her character - I thought she'd be a total side character/arm candy at first, but she turned out to be really brave and involved. It was a good story, but I'll need to read some happy stuff so that I can sleep :)

Book: Troubles in Paradise (Paradise, #3) by Elin Hilderbrand Troubles in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand
Rating: 3.5 stars
Review: This was a good conclusion to the Paradise series that I think did a great job tying together all the loose ends from the first 2 books. I do think it was a bit too long and kind of dragged on, which made me struggle to stay entertained by it. I liked that it brought in a character from one of this author’s other books, but if I hadn’t already read that book then the entire chapter told from her perspective would have felt annoyingly and random.

Of Blood and Bone, Nora Roberts – 10/27/20 – ✮✮✮✮✮
Review — This second installment did not disappoint! There is so much going on, but Ms. Roberts weaves the stories together so seamlessly. I enjoyed seeing the changes over 13 years and how each character grew and evolved since the end of Year One. I am well into the third and final book in this series and continue to be blown away by the worldbuilding and character development. This is an amazing trilogy!

Review: I read book 0.5 ages ago and for some reason I had a mental block on this one. I really enjoyed this story about Emma who is half Valkyrie and half vampire and the Scottish Lykae Lachlain. I enjoyed the other Valkyries characters and hope that we find out more about them later in the series. The only negative I had was that if Emma and Lachlain had only just communicated better a lot of their issues should have resolved but then there wouldn’t have been much of a story.

Review: This is a continuation of the Eagle elite mafia series and is just as good as the others. A bit darker and more tragic than some of the others as it focuses on Chase coming to terms with being betrayed by his mob boss wife and his path of destruction in hopes that it leads to his death. Another great book in the series.

I liked both Cal and Worth, which made the story flow for me. I wasn’t sure about Cal at first because he was sooo much younger than Worth, but he proved to be both mature and sweet. The setting on the boat / Caribbean was great, and I especially enjoyed the descriptions about diving and sailing. Cal and Worth were ideal together, each one bringing out the best in the other.
Cal has 9 siblings, so there are a bunch of books about his brothers and cousins, all of which I think are MM romance too. The ending was a bit cookie-cutter sappy, but it worked out well for this couple. My favorite characters were Lucas and Nat, I loved Worth’s relationship with his two siblings. Overall it was entertaining, funny and charming.

Review: This is basically the book version of the movie Just Married with Brittany Murphy and Ashton Kutcher. It was a cute book but very predictable. It was basically just a fluff read, which was a nice break after multiple heavy reads. I actually found myself getting angry with the main character. I know we were supposed to sympathize with her, but I found her fiancé much more likable. The ending tied the book together well overall, though.

Review: I definitely have to get to the next book (and last) book in this series soon. Most of the story in this one takes place in the underworld. It revealed a lot about the formation of the world and the gods in a very organic way, and I thought it was very interesting - especially the different areas and what goes on in each. I would have liked to see more of what was going on "outside", and I missed the humor that is in some of the other books (although I can totally see that it wouldn't have fit in this one). This was very much the middle book of a story - the characters are progressing (literally) towards the ending, and I'm excited to see it! I still have LOTS of questions.

Book: The Dilemma by B.A. Paris The Dilemma by B.A. Paris

Review: This book was not at all what I was expecting. I really liked that it had short chapters, which kept the story moving very quickly. I don’t think this was a thriller, though. I would say it was more of a family drama with suspense. I did find myself not being able to put it down towards the end, but I think the misleading plot and genre made it more disappointing to me overall.

Yes exactly! I think I could have enjoyed it more if the Goodreads synopsis depicted the story for what it was, but, unfortunately, it was really misleading. I’ve heard her other books are better, so maybe I’ll try a different one in the future.

Book: Releasing Rage (Cyborg Sizzle, #1) by Cynthia Sax
Read: 11/8/2020
Rating: 3 stars
This is a sexy sci-fi romance that takes place in a battle station in space. Joan is the only female, she’s a smart engineer working with cyborgs. However, the human male crew members treat her terribly. She is sent by her Commander to work with a damaged, violent cyborg, who turns out to be Rage. Rage and Joan develop a romantic relationship and Joan is eventually rescued after a cyborg revolt.
Overall the story was interesting and I liked the futuristic world-building. I would’ve preferred less sex scenes, as I found some of them took place at times I think made little sense with regard to the storyline. I liked that the author stayed true to Rage’s half-man, half-machine nature, so Joan becomes his priority even as he remains strong and dominant. The world in which they live is extremely violent, Joan is violently attacked and Rage helps heal her in a very unorthodox way, not a fan. I like the unexpected twist at the end and the epilogue was pretty cute.

But it's all the same story - so let me know if you want me to change that one. The ebook is also the one in my "read" list.

For Post 237 - I need to check the rules - I'm listening to the audible version. I linked the paperback one since it's the default edition. But maybe I should be linking the audio and just state the default pages?

Sorry, my internet has been very faulty, so I didn't see the post until now.

Hi Suzanne - in fact, the ebook, paperback or Kindle edition works - it just needs the page count on there.

In this challenge you can use whichever edition you like so long as it is over 100 pages and those pages match the edition posted. It doesn't need to match the actual one you read. And you need to link to an edition with a page count, (Sorry - you may need to back to your original edition? not the audiobook?)
