Review: Molly disappears when on a trip home from her son's football game. There was a big storm, and her abandoned car was found, but no trace of Molly. What happened? Soon after, a note was found saying "Don't look for me," and we discover legitimate reasons why Molly would want to leave her family and disappear. But did she?
This was a fun thriller. It's told from two points of view, and I liked both of them. Boy, books like this though are hard to review without spoilers!. It has some (deserved) angst, some family dynamics, and a lot of twists and turns. I'd recommend it as a good page turner

Hi Annette - yes although I prefer the actual book link but given you are travelling, I completely understand the difficulties :)
Post your completion when you get home :)

Kathy is this your week 4 selection?

Theme 7: Option 1

Think of England by K.J. Charles
Pages: 236
How it qualifies: #154 on the list Timeless MM romance

But I found a book and started it yesterday - Lover Unleashed, which is on the 1st list. Formal post to follow once I'm home :)

Suzanne I do everything on my phone but I have to use the browser version as the app is so poor. I only use the app to add books or search books.

This was my first book by this author and I read this book specifically for a challenge. I’m glad I did because I love discovering new authors. I began by becoming invested in the mystery and was slowly captivated by the voice of the main character, Archie Curtis. Archie and Daniel meet by chance during a spying mission. They work together to solve a mystery involving blackmail and murder in a house party at a country house estate in Great Britain. Even though only days go by, their relationship is paced adequately so I can believe that feelings are involved at the end without being over the top. The mystery is satisfactorily resolved. The secondary characters play their part convincingly, especially the unexpected villains. Overall, a pleasant and exciting story meshing MM romance and suspense elements.

Review: I thought this was a good book, but I think, overall, it was just too sad. It seemed like the author looked up a bunch of different horrible things that can happen to people (cancer, rape, abuse, miscarriage, infertility, social anxiety, etc.) and threw it all into one book. As a whole, it was a good story that kept me enthralled as I was reading, but it just seemed like there was way too many issues going on for all of the characters. There was also a two part twist thrown in, one of which was expected, one wasn't, but I thought that does not fit in at all in a book like this. It just seemed completely unnecessary to even have a twist. This book is mostly about family and the different types of relationships within families, so a twist like this just does not seem to fit the genre. Overall, even though I was sad throughout the whole book and considered DNFing it at one point because it was heavier than what I was looking for, I still thought it was an okay book as a whole. I originally gave it 3.5 stars, but as I wrote this review, I dropped it down to 2.5 stars because I realized more things bothered me than I expected.

Review: This book mainly focuses on 2 MCs and is a military, 2nd chance romance. Evie lost her restaurant because she trusted the wrong man who was a small part of an organised crime group and has returned to her home town. Matt a HOT operator has returned home for his sisters wedding and is recovering from being shot as a result of a mission gone wrong. The 2 of them are thrown back together in a flurry of action as the bad guys hunt Evie for information she didn’t know she had. A little bit repetitive Matt telling Evie to stay and her not listening over and over but it was enjoyable to read.

Review: There were things I liked about this story, and maybe if I'd been in a different mood I would have given it more stars. Basically the V's sister Payne is paralyzed. The Brotherhood has to call in an elite human surgeon to help her. Meanwhile there is all sorts of angst from V, and a subplot of a serial killer (which I found interesting, but it wasn't long enough.) I guess the thing I didn't like is that every ailment, worry, problem, etc. can be fixed by the right kind of (and a lot of) sex. See there is my grumpy side. I did really like Payne -she's a true warrior.

Review: I read the book Boss I Love to Hate by this author and I genuinely liked it, I thought it was funny, a little cliched but overall a good read. So I decided to this book a try. The MC of this book, Mason, was the brother of the MC of the book Boss I Love to Hate, so they were both a bit connected, though it could also be read as a standalone. Like the book, Boss I Love to Hate, this book was also funny and really sweet. I'd definitely recommend this book to you all.

10. National Geographic is a very popular option on Disney+
* Read a book with an animal on cover.
'Animal' definition: any living animal other than a human being.
Birds and insects count. Must be a real animal, not mythical. A drawn bookcover that includes an animal will count, but not statues etc.
You must post the bookcover for qualification.

Witch Wanted
Rating: 3 stars
This was unexpectedly cute and a fast-paced story. Quirky witch and grumpy bear shifter get together in an enchanted town full of magical beings. Liv, the quirky witch and Fuzzy, her familiar dog, solve a mystery after being attacked first by psychotic sunflowers and then by evil pumpkins captained by a wicked waterspout.
I would’ve preferred some more world-building and additional characters. The townspeople that were introduced were eccentric and original but we don’t get enough of them. The mystery moved way too fast, just like the romantic relationship between Liv and Brock. I wish the book would’ve been longer, and that we’d gotten more information about Liv’s witchy background and history.

Review: The 2nd book in the deadly beauties live on series. Thad the changer and gatekeeper falls for a human who might not be as sweet as she first seems and in the main, this is their love story. The group are working to discover the dark power that is threatening and this causes a lot of chaos as they follow false paths. I enjoyed this book once I got back into remembering all the characters that feature in the deadly beauties series. I need to read the next one without such a gap.

Review: I absolutely loved this book. I usually am not a fan of historical fiction, but Taylor Jenkins Reid can make me love any book. This was written in an interview format, which made it a great audiobook. I felt like I was listening to a play with different characters. The author made me believe that this was a real band and kept me intrigued about where the story was going the whole time.

The Dark Light of Day, T.M. Fraizer – 10/4/20 – ✮✮✮✮✮
Review — This was an amazing book from start to finish. It’s not your typical happy-go-lucky love story...in fact, it’s the exact opposite. It’s gritty and harsh, but the characters are really well developed and the story was executed beautifully. I’ve enjoyed the first two books in this series revolving around King, so I was happy to have Jake and Abby’s story before moving on to Bear’s.

Magic Binds, Ilona Andrews – 10/6/20 – ✮✮✮✮✰
Review — WOW...there is so much going on in this book and since it is the book leading to the big finish, it’s killing me not to jump straight into the next one...Kate has gone through so many trials in her short life and within the span of this series, but this installment seemed to batter at her. It isn’t enough she’s struggling to maintain a delicate truce with her nutjob father, she has to wrestle with her magic, plan a wedding, rescue an ally, and keep her loved ones alive. As I said, so much going on in this book...but such a great lead up to the end!

Review: I'm still liking this series (after 2 whole books). At least mostly - there is a love triangle which I HATE but luckily it's not a major part of the story. The setting is my favorite part - Cascade Springs has some great characters that I enjoy. In this book, one of the writers group falls down the stairs at a poetry reading and foul play is suspected. The Magical bookstore of course tries to help solve the case. I love the bookstore, "where the right book finds you" - it's built around a magical tree, and the descriptions make me want to visit. I thought the mystery was good, and I think I'll continue with (and finish) the series.
