PtP - Book, I Am Your Reader (3)

2. Jedi - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)
3. Name your team. Using this round's theme of Disney+, come up with a team name. We are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)
Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by early Wednesday 4 September.
4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2.
5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including names to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!
* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full within that post.
You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.
I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.
Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.
6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation.
7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.
8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.
9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)
10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A Annoucement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.
The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week if Option 2 is used, members must select their book from another team. This will be advised in the week 11 announcement.

The format for selection posts Option 1:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please link or name the qualifying bookshelf/list where applicable (link if possible).
If the theme is based off the bookcover, post the cover. If there is a letter count in the title, publication date etc, please note these details.
The format for selection posts Option 2:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.
Format for completion posts:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Rating (1-5)
Review
Please DO NOT CHAT in these selection/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.
If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.

If you can please introduce yourself to the team, where you are located, and a little bit about what you like to read or anything else you’d like to share, that would be great.
I’m Hazel. I’m from Glasgow, Scotland. I’m married with an 11 year old football mad and Xbox playing son and a 17 year old fur baby🐈. In normal times, in the evenings and weekends I’m very much a taxi to sports activities. Our schools have just gone back and kids are allowed to play sports so we are starting to get back into a routine. I’ve been lucky enough to work from home since March and that looks like it will continue into 2021. When I get out my friends and I love karaoke and I also sing in a band.
My time zone is GMT so the theme is normally called between 8pm and 11pm for me. It would be good to know what the time is for you when the theme is called.
I’ve participated in a number of PtP challenges and captained a few. I read a total mix of books but they need to have a romance element to them.
If anyone has any creative thoughts, please throw out some ideas as to potential team names. We’re looking for team names that fit with Disney+. I’ve added some thoughts to the post above.

Any newbies to PtP let me know and I will help however I can.

I teach math at the university here. So of course, life has been a little crazy since we are basically supposed to teach all the ways (live, broadcast, recorded). I love to read (obviously) and spend lots of my free time doing just that. I also love dogs. I have a Mastiff that I never would have chosen, but who is now my favorite dog ever. So I do lots of walks with him and am trying to teach him not to pull away from me :)
I've participated in a couple of PtP challenges. I enjoy finding books to fit a task, so of course I enjoy PtP.
Thank you for captaining, Hazel!

I read both MF and MM, contemporary, PNR, some Sci-Fi and historical romance. Not a fan of urban fantasy, YA or cliffhangers. And I need a HEA :)
Those team names are great, Hazel. I especially like the ones with C3PO references, as we are team 3.

I’ve sent you both friend requests.
Suzanne it’s certainly been a crazy time! Our schools have just gone back (not sure about universities) but homeschool was so tricky for me to manage. I love dogs too - my mum has 3 and my sister has 1 so I get to borrow them. I also love cats and I have a 17 year old called Pookie.
Kari I’m lacking in my knowledge of MM books. I’ve read a few series where there have been aspects of MM but never a pure MM book. I’m also lacking in the sci-fi genre.
If you have other team name suggestions please feel free to suggest. I asked my friends on a FB books group I’m part of and they bombarded the page with suggestions - I can’t take all the credit.

I’ve sent you both friend requests.

Friend request accepted!
MM is a nice change from MF as I find the emotional dynamics quite different and fascinating, even though MF is what I read most. I like changing subgenres a LOT, which is how I end up reading so many sci-fi alien romances...
Thank your friends for the name suggestions, so sweet they're helping out!

Other things about me: I’m a pharmacist, so it has been quite the adventure working through the pandemic. Now with flu season starting, work is getting very busy again. I live with my fiancé. We have no pets or kids, but we love to travel!
I LOVE the names you and your Facebook group came up with Hazel! I think my favorite is Book, I Am Your Reader! If we want to incorporate team 3, then I also really like C(team 3)-PO.
Thanks for captaining Hazel! Good to be on a team with you again, and I’m excited to get to know the rest of you!

My favorite team name (although I really loved all of them) is Book, I am your reader! I noticed I can't really pick a second because they are all so clever. I think C(team 3)-PO is great too for keeping our team 3 identity.

Both C(team3)PO or Book, I am your reader! are great choices.

C(team)3PO and
Book, I am your reader
I’m happy with either of them. Let’s see what Kathy and Himanshi think when they check in.

How are you enjoying your HR internship. I work in HR and studied HR at university.
Thanks for your input into the name - we are still open to other suggestions if you have any.

I read a wide range of romance subgenres, but I seem to be heavy into contemporary right now...that doesn’t mean I don’t love paranormal, historical, or other subgenres. 😊
I’ve played in many PtP rounds and captained the last round...I love participating in this challenge and anything that pulls in Disney works for me! as for team names, I love “Book, I am your reader.” If we want to incorporate the team number, an alternative could be “Book 3, I am your reader.” Just a thought! 😊
looking forward to this round and playing with this team!

Himanshi, I got my MBA a few years ago and it isn’t so tough. I’m impressed you find time to read on top of it!
Kathy, I’m on the exact opposite side from Chicago from you. I’m on the northwest side!
I like the idea for Book 3, I am your reader! If we are okay not incorporating the number then I think Book, I am your reader is my favorite and flows well!

Happy to be on a team with you again!
There is no requirement to have the team number in the title. I think I prefer Book, I am your reader rather than with the number but I’m not precious. I think we all like this one so let’s decide do we want:
Book 3, I am your reader
OR
Book, I am your reader

I’m so sorry to hear you had to postpone your wedding...stupid virus!

It's going great and I'm quite enjoying myself. Maybe the reason I'm so excited about this is because I'm still kind of new to it and the excitement might eventually wear off. What about you? Do you like working in HR?

To be honest, it's more out of habit. I've gotten used to reading before sleeping and I've got this habit to read at least one chapter before sleeping. Besides, a girl needs some entertainment, right?

Option 1:
8. The Star Wars movies are a major attraction to the streaming service.
* Read a book with Science Fiction as a main page genre (MPG) OR read a book with a title of no more than eight letters. Eg Bond, Kaleb, Desire, I Was Here
Series titles do not count for this task.
You must specify which option you are using in your post when showing 'how it fits'.
Option 2:

A book on your team mates 'read' list AND rated at least 3 stars and read on or after the key date.

I loved this series Kathy!

Week #1, Option 2
Property of Drex #1
Rating: 3 stars
I read The Wild Ones series by C.M Owens and I loved it, so I went in with high expectations for this book. The story focuses on Eve, who sacrifices herself for her family, and Drex, a biker who lives a violent life but is protective and affectionate with Eve.
I really liked the Dual POV, as it was easy to understand their motivations. The plot line worked well for an MC book, with the club performing bad deeds to get ahead, including murder. The H was mostly a jerk except when he was uber-possessive with Eve. This made him oddly endearing although I had trouble connecting with the characters in general, especially Drex’s dad and most of his pals. I wasn’t a huge fan of Eve in general.
It ends in a huge cliffhanger which normally bothers me but it didn’t too much in this case. I am curious about what is going on with Benny. Overall, I enjoyed it but I prefer this author’s romantic comedies.

I'd like to use Option 3 Pass for the week of the 19th (I think our tasks are announced on Saturdays, correct me if I'm wrong). Hopefully I'll have a quick recovery and will be able to jump back here the following week.

I loved the Wild ones and the sterling shore series. Did you know she also writes under the names S.T Abby - I love the Mindf*ck series about a serial killer in a relationship with an fbi profiler and under the name Kristy Cunning.

Oh no that’s rubbish! Hoping that you have a fast recovery and I will note your pass for that week. Themes are usually called on a Friday. X

Ohhhh I didn't know!! So excited, just added The Risk, and will be checking out Kristy Cunning too. Thanks for the rec :)
Have you read Psychopath's Prey? The blurb reminds me a little of the Mindf*ck series, it's pretty good too.
