Sunny | 2311 comments Of the books you've read since the beginning of this quarter (October 1st) is there one you will read again?

A Tale for the Time Being is one I'll be reading again.

Rebecca Ray | 1285 comments Update message #9: 26/40

Read Haunted Histories: Creepy Castles, Dark Dungeons, and Powerful Palaces with my thirteen-year-old. We were hoping for juicy ghost stories and tales of murder, and instead this was a pretty standard introduction to life in the middle ages. We were a little disappointed.

Sunshine, we really enjoyed Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls as well. We're reading some of the Babysitters Club books together and she's reading the graphic novels on our own. Since she's read the graphic novels (and I've read the whole series before), we're not reading in any particular order, so we started The Ghost At Dawn's House last night.

Mikaela P | 147 comments I know! It feels surreal that I am only two books away- I am very excited! For me, "The Once and Future Witches" was a super engaging read. I really enjoyed the way she embedded a variety of themes into this novel (ranging from the suffragist movement to gender, womanhood, and sexuality)

For example: 2 of 8

12/12 completed!! I have ADORED this challenge and will definitely continue reading more books towards it.

5) A book that takes place in the winter
The Christmas Letters by Lee Smith

This was an okay read. I enjoyed the concept of learning about their lives through letters they wrote every winter around Christmas but found the whole narrative to feel a little fragmented. The ending was also quite abrupt

It was okay but didn’t meet my expectations from really liking the previous book I read by this author (The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared). I like the writing but didn’t really like the main characters.
