SOLVED. Children/YA Fantasy. Ordinary princess forced into hiding bc of evil threatening her throne sort of story except it’s 12 (or more) of them and all adopted and each one was tasked to protect a Special Item to help defeat the evil. [s]

Plot: read this story around 2008-13 and basically, from what I remember; the story starts off with a girl living on a farm with her grandma(?) and grandpa (?) (probably aunt and uncle but idk). her best friend is named Harper and he’s knocking on her front door so she can go with him to feed their cows in the pasture. Then she goes back home after being accidentally humiliated by Harper bc she either fell or stepped in cow manure (she’s known as clumsy). I remembered another scene where it was night fall and her guardian was prepping her for her Princess Studies and she lamented over the fact that she cannot let anyone know that she is the lost Princess of the throne and feels a childish jealousy for the fake they placed on the throne in an attempt to protect her (and unbeknownst to her; all of the other princesses). Fast forward to her and Harper decided to go to the Castle to demand when she can get her throne back or something like that. So she sneaks out while her Guardians are asleep and does what any 13-14 protagonist does when they don’t realize the dangers of the world; go on an adventure with no solid plan.

Fast forwarding again where the girl meets all of the other princess after collecting them from their RPG destinations. Then it comes to find out that they’re all adopted bc the Queen was unable to have children after her first few children died in miscarriage/premature. They are, obviously, outraged about it and feels like someone is lying so someone yells out to reveal their secret item™️. All 12 does and then shit breaks lose, they team up to defeat the big bad™️
Oh and the protagonist and Harper kiss and confess their feelings for one another dead smack in middle of the final conflict.

I received the book without an cover so to me, it was just a grey book with a royal purple spine with golden cursive letters on it.
