SOLVED: Children's/YA > SOLVED. Book similar to the Hunger Games, kids fight for *something* and it's set very internationally, multiple perspectives

Etta The book follows the perspectives of many different kids from all over the world. An asteroid or something is sent at each kid and they're chosen to fight to protect their country (?) and they compete in some sort of game with the other kids that goes all over the world to complete tasks or challenges or to find something. one of the main characters is an American girl who's asteroid blows up her highschool and kills her brother who was supposed to be the "tribute" so she has to go, and eventually she like meets this boy who's also in the game and like he helps her fix a dislocated arm or vise versa. I read the book in about 2017-2018, and I remember it was a relatively new book when I read it. It had one of those more modern edgy looking covers.

That sounds vaguely familiar, but I can't remember specific details of the cover so I don't know...

Glad you found your book, Etta. Is it Jessica's suggestion - The Calling by James Frey?
