Hi, I read this book when I was around 12-13 (around 2008-2009). It was an old book then as well, perhaps written in the 1990s. The book is set in America. It's about a group of girls who are best friends from when they were little. One of them is moving away with her family because I believe her mother has to take care of the girl's grandfather. She is trying to deal with the shock of moving away from her friends. Her friends decide to start a postal/letter-writing club. They pick out stationery and stamps. Another girl, I think her name is Lisa, says she lives in a rented house and might have to move in the future so its good that they can still maintain their friendship even if they are far away. Its children's fiction. The girls are 4th graders I think.

Was the book composed entirely of the letters written by the characters, or was it more of a traditional style with chapters and a narrator? Do you recall about how many friends were in the group? P.S. Longer Letter Later matches some of what you described and was published 1998, but only includes two girls.
