Kenzaburo Oe - because he's like Lolo Frankie, I guess. In the blogs I am randomly reading, he influences most of the contemporary Japanese writers of today. Even Murakami cited him in Norwegian Wood.

You know what, I went through your list, and I panicked because I saw Rainbow has a new book. I checked the blurb but my excitement quickly died down. Not a big fan of fanfiction huhu :((
