YA Fiction- The protagonist is a young girl and she is in a committed relationship with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend is away on a trip (maybe for work?) and there is a disaster and there are a bunch of missing people and no one hears from her boyfriend for many weeks/months. To cope through her grief, she becomes good friends with her boyfriends best friend, however, their friendship soon becomes more than platonic. At the end of the book, the boyfriend returns home and finds the main character and his best friend. I read this book back in 2017-2018. I remember the best friend of the boyfriend was into cars. Maybe a mechanic? He fixed them up, maybe motorcycles too.
