Lauren | 3 comments I don't know if I dreamt this or actually read it but I need to know. All I remember is a group of Royals maybe traveling through the woods and they got attacked by some other group that was after them or this young adult girl traveling with them. The group attacking were after her or something. I don't know who she was or why she was with them but I dont think they liked her?
Any guesses?

There are several covers
The Goose Girl (The Books of Bayern, #1) by Shannon Hale The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale

This description from Amazon is better than the Goodreads blurb.
"Anidori-Kiladra Talianna Isilee, Crown Princess of Kildenree, spends the first years of her life listening to her aunt's stories and learning the language of the birds, especially the swans. As she grows up Ani develops the skills of animal speech, but is never comfortable speaking with people, so when her silver-tongued lady in waiting leads a mutiny during Ani's journey to be married in a foreign land, Ani is helpless and cannot persuade anyone to help her. She becomes a goose girl and must use her own special, nearly magical powers to find her way to her true destiny."

Lauren, that's a good start. You must copy genre (e.g., YA historical, fantasy?) and plot details (from your first post) to the topic header (title), so someone could recognize your book from that description alone. Many members only read the headers.

We have thousands of YA requests. We close threads with vague headers.

Click the small "edit" link after the topic header. This only works on the full Desktop website - not the Mobile website or app. (On the Mobile website, there's a "Desktop version" link at the bottom of the page.) Then we can re-open the thread.

- Around what year did you read this book? A range of years is fine.

I added some details to the topic header, so your book might be recognized from that description alone. Many members only read the headers. Feel free to edit it.

- What's the genre (e.g., YA [teen] historical, fantasy) which we need to add to the topic header?
- Around what year did you read this book? A range of years is fine.

Louie | 87 comments This sounds similar to The Traitor's Game by Jennifer A. Nielsen. The Traitor's Game (The Traitor's Game, #1) by Jennifer A. Nielsen
It came out in 2018.
