RJ, you're game to tackle the second one after being let down by the first. Or maybe you just really really want to think about going back to Hawaii, eh?

Midnight Sun, Twilght from Edward's POV point of view. Yes Stephenie Meyer finished writing it and published it.

Dragonquest by Anne McCaffrey
Rating: a generous 3 stars

Trumps of Doom by Roger Zelazny
(this is the first book in the second Amber series and NOT a book about the ex-President)

This may be a century-old tale but it was mesmerizing and harrowing and, because of the location, timeless.

Yes, I really liked it (but it is sad).

One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez - 4 stars - My Review

Instead I started The Devil and the Dark Water.

Reading this one for pleasure. Only have 70 some pages left.

Reading this for my Art History class. Half way through and on track for where I need to be.

Used parts of this for a research essay in English and have decided to read it in full.

That's an illusion, Sarah. Just check the bookshelf for the group and you'll see all kinds of books have been read and discussed here!
For me, I like to mix up books I've always "meant" to read with modern mysteries, a bit of non-fiction, and the occasional YA or chick lit. Just go with your mood and enjoy!

The Buddha of Suburbia by Hanif Kureishi - 4 stars - My Full Review

I found this book intense, disturbing, and thought-provoking.

The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan - 4 stars - My Review

I read quite a lot of The Bat today and I'm currently a third through it. I want to finish it soon so that I can move on to other books. I'm only about 20 pages into Kärleken and reading it started this mini-slump so I'm a bit scared to continue it although I think I'll start to like it more as I go :D

Then I want to finish How to Be an Antiracist and Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You. Plus I want to make further progress on these books that I have begun reading:
Hidden Valley Road: Inside the Mind of an American Family--so fascinating, especially since my aunt suffered from paranoid schizophrenia)
The Souls of Black Folk--I learned more ACCURATE US history in the first chapter than in my whole life thus far! (And I'm old!)
White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism--I personally do not find it difficult, but most do...
Learning Race, Learning Place: Shaping Racial Identities and Ideas in African American Childhoods

The Book Thief by Mark Zusak (I'm trying to finish it before the end of this month...I started it way back in August!)
Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera
Yona of the Dawn, Vol. 2 by Mizuho Kusanagi
