PattyMacDotComma I also just enjoyed another delightful escapade with The Honourable Phryne Fisher, the luscious sleuth created by Australian favourite, Kerry Greenwood. 1920s Melbourne is where Miss Fisher investigates a Murder on the Ballarat Train.

Nikoletta | 2 comments Genghis Khan and the history of the modern world.

It's good, I'm enjoying it but i soon found out it has many inaccuracies. it's a fascinating read dont get me wrong but i hoped to actually learn something from it. I guess it brings a different perspective on some important historic events.

Woman Reading (is away exploring) | 392 comments I started a new UF series by the husband-wife team, Ilona Andrews. Burn for Me (Hidden Legacy, #1) by Ilona Andrews Burn for Me kicks off their Hidden Legacy series. The bookcover is horrendous, hiding an action packed mystery in an alternate universe. The social components are what I find interesting.

L Y N N (book_music_lvr) | 2389 comments Almost halfway through Song of Blood & Stone (Earthsinger Chronicles #1) by L. Penelope and loving it. I will pick up the second book in the series this Sunday while attending the IRL book club meeting held on the outdoor patio at my favorite used bookstore. Continuing with One Hundred Years of Solitude which I plan to finish this weekend for a Buddy Read. Then for an ongoing all-IU read I will continue with Long Walk Out of the Woods: A Physician's Story of Addiction, Depression, Hope, and Recovery which I am finding enjoyable. Then I want to finish The Souls of Black Folk, White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism, Learning Race, Learning Place: Shaping Racial Identities and Ideas in African American Childhoods, and Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You. After that for the Popsugar Summer Challenge: finish Cocktails for Three, read The Guest List, China Rich Girlfriend, and The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy.

Woman Reading (is away exploring) | 392 comments Patricia Briggs' Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs Moon Called

I usually avoid werewolf stories but decided to try this because of the high ratings from my GR friends. It's a good start, and in hindsight, I like having a main character with her atypical ancestry.

Marleen | 957 comments I started two new books this week: The Poppy War and Cloud Atlas. That last one is a slow buddy read with my sister, and it’s a good thing that we decided to take our time with it because it’s a chunker and I’m also having to look up so many words already in the first few pages! This will take me a while for sure.
