Hayden K (followinggoodbooks) Ava ~ Bookish wrote: "I started reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I haven't got into the main plot yet but I'm still loving it! :)"
To Kill a Mockingbird is pretty great, and an easy read for a classic. Hope you enjoy it!

message 63: by Hayden K (new)

Hayden K (followinggoodbooks) I'm currently reading....a lot, but today I read in Twin Daggers and Crowned a Traitor. Ugh. They're both so bad. Well, I don't like them anyway. Going to comfort myself with Everything, Everything. :)

message 64: by Jaye (new)

Jaye Card (jayecard) Besides from grinding through my huge tome of biology (which I imagine you guys don't care too much about in particular) I got started with Cinder today, but I'm like thirty pages in so jury is still out

message 65: by Hayden K (new)

Hayden K (followinggoodbooks) I've started cinder a couple of times. I really need to finish it! hope you enjoy it

message 74: by Ashi (new)

Ashi I'm currently reading Scarlet! It is so good!!

message 75: by Jaye (new)

Jaye Card (jayecard) That one's gonna go on my TBR once I finish Cinder it seems like, lol

message 76: by Jaye (new)

Jaye Card (jayecard) I finally finished Cinder! Really enjoyed it. Kinda thought it would be more standalone-ish though, lol.

But I was really glad to see that it didn't do any of the tropes that bother me in a lot of books like that. No matter how hot the guy, Cinder always kept her brains and her priorities straight. And the guy, Kai, is perfectly likeable in my opinion.

But my heart really belongs to (view spoiler) despite only appearing for two pages or so. I don't care, I love her. And I did not expect to meet her so soon.

message 77: by Ayla (new)

Ayla (storiesandfolklore) Oh that’s awesome!! I paused on cinder for a little while, I was at a little bit of a boring part

message 82: by Jaye (new)

Jaye Card (jayecard) I just finished The Magnolia Sword and gosh it was everything I've ever wanted from a Mulan story. I never expected this book to give me all that. Absolutely recommend it.

message 85: by Jaye (new)

Jaye Card (jayecard) I finally finished Charmcaster, which I got stuck on when I didn't have any time to read. Now I'm excited to read the next volume, lol. But first, it's finally time for my spooky read, The Monstrumologist

message 89: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 12 comments I'm reading the Starless Sea and Broken Sky at the moment. Starless Sea is pretty great so far - Broken Sky is taking a while to get into

message 90: by Jaye (new)

Jaye Card (jayecard) So I'm still on my Halloween read, The Monstrumologist. You guys, don't read this book at 2am. Just don't do that. I thought I was pretty good at handling the horror in it, then suddenly it hit me with some different stuff. And when I do let myself get immersed in the story, man, some of the scenes in this book are just so disgusting...in a good, bone chilling way, but man was I not prepared for this. And I gotta say, the German translation is holding up pretty well.

That being said, I'm really looking forward to reading Comet in Moominland next. A wholesome children's story will be just the right thing after this...

What's everyone else up to?

message 91: by Bumble (new)

Bumble Greenbriar (hernameiscrumpet) I recently finished my halloween read (I read it in early november lol) and it was Small Spaces. I slept with the lights on. it was some pretty chilling stuff... living scarecrows, ghosts, the mysterious Smiling Man, lost in the woods, a corn maze filled with your deepest fears, a halfway place between death and life.... let’s just say it was a great read but i’m not in a hurry to experience any of it myself!

message 92: by Jaye (new)

Jaye Card (jayecard) can i offer you some: being eaten alive, cause that's what I'm reading

message 93: by Lucy Tonks, Shadowhunter - Head of BOTM (new)

Lucy Tonks (the invisible life of a reader) | 2037 comments i hope you love addie larue! it's one of my favourites of the year.

message 96: by Jaye (new)

Jaye Card (jayecard) I read your review on that one, you got me a little curious too, just that my tbr pile is way too long to pick it up at the moment "^^

message 97: by Amelie (new)

Amelie | 1656 comments Lucy Tonks wrote: "i hope you love addie larue! it's one of my favourites of the year."

Thanks! I’m really enjoying it so far, it’s so beautifully written and really touches on the human experience, and it’s just so sad reading about Addie’s struggles and how she’s forgotten. But it’s cool reading something different to what the author usually writes.
