Where do you read?

I do struggle to read in a car sometimes though. Either the roads or the driver - I don't know - sometimes I can get a little woozy.

My fave place is like tonight, warm fire, soft couch, pinot grigio and Dinah Washington on stereo. My furry pets are close by, but this is my time.

I'd find that really frustrating ... just at a really good bit then - damn, a call coming in!

Wow! I thought I was an 'into the early hours' type of person, but you've beaten me hands down here.

I grew up reading in the car on trips. We drive everywhere on vacations. My father would be talking about the beautiful scenery and I would have my nose in a book. I still enjoy reading in the car but I don't get much chance anymore.

Otherwise, I will read anywhere. I will take a book whenever I leave the house which is why I am grateful for my Kindle. I no longer have to carry a huge purse anymore!

Snap Ivy for the fire, couch, pinot grigio and furry friends!

I'm among those who can read almost anytime, anywhere -- though I do find it difficult to concentrate if there is excessive noise. I have almost missed my bus stop reading. Luckily, I looked up just as we passed the stop before mine. The fact that I can read in a moving vehicle always earned me the role of navigator when friends and I went on road trips.

A moving car and audio - whoa! I'd be fast asleep within ten minutes I'm afraid, no matter how good the book or narrator.

Cheers to you Valerie!

If only driving didn't get in the way. ;)

I admit, I do sometimes have to fight falling asleep on long car rides. Reading seems to help.

This is me! I prefer to read on my living room sofa but that is mostly due to the convenience of the kitchen and bathroom...

I'm definitely one of those people that can't read in a moving car! It's odd though--most days I can read on my 50 minute train ride commute to work. Sometimes I need to put my book/Kindle down to rest my eyes because I can feel myself getting queasy, but usually I get most of my reading done that way :). I love to sit in my chair in my living room and read (and I can definitely read with the TV on!).

I used to be able to read almost anywhere, because I could block out sounds. I would spend a lot of time reading in the family room while my family was watching TV. Now, however, I have a hard time blocking out sounds, so I have to go in another room and wear earplugs, but that's often not sufficient, so I have to go upstairs into my bedroom and shut the door. I then still have to wear earplugs. I keep earplugs in my purse so that I can put them in and read when I'm away from home and have to wait somewhere. During my recent trips to Walt Disney World, I spent a lot of time standing in line with earplugs in and reading on my kindle. I had to wear earplugs there a lot, because I have very good hearing and so many of the attractions hurt my ears because they're too loud.
I usually read in the car, but I do have to stop reading if the road is curvy. I can read in an airplane, too.

Yes been there, Ivy. Got a row of soggy paperbacks now to prove it!

In the summer, it's the front porch swing. Come on summer......

I've started listening to audiobooks in the dentist's chairs and it seems to help my stress levels.

Otherwise I can read most places. I like being comfortable though, it helps me get into the book and not be as distracted.
My main current reading spots -
My couch with the faux fireplace and rainymood, blanket and drinks/sweets at side with cat on me
My bed with pillows arranged and keep needing to rearrange, with blanket, cold air conditioning going, drink, and cat trying to lay on my face for some
reason (if I lay flat he is more difficult!)
Bathtub - I go all out - have my favorite bubble bath that lasts a long time with little needed, an inflatable bath pillow, a drink nearby and peacefully no cat in there to bother me. I can get lost for hours in the bath with a book.
Small porch - My favorite when its windy and raining and the sun isn't out too much (otherwise too blinding)
McDonalds - I read at the local McDonalds on my lunch break. They have a nice patio outside, it's close to work, I can get a cheap drink and free refill before going back. Sometimes the chairs are too uncomfortable and my back starts hurting though
A bean bag chair - When my son plays video games sometimes I plop down next to him on this large and ridiculously cozy bean bag chair. I lay down my head and upper body, it's more comfortable than it sounds.
