Benjamin Lopez Barba | 9 comments Years I read the book: 2000-2003. I was probably in elementary school at the time.

I believe the book is about exaggerations or oxymorons or things that don't make sense.

It is possible the book makes use of a lot of alliteration.

My main memory of it is a single picture: there is a dragon that is eating something very spicy (probably peppers but possibly a pizza or hot sauce) and the dragon's eyes are wide and watering because whatever it is eating is just too hot for it to stand!

So each page in the book presents things of that nature, a dragon who eats something that's too spicy... I would list more examples but that's the only one that stuck after all these years.

Thank you for your help!

Benjamin, is this a children's picture book (about 32-48 pages)? Does the text rhyme?

Can you describe the illustrations - e.g., simple or detailed, realistic or cartoon-like, painted watercolors or bold graphics, bright or dark colors, black & white? Do they remind you of a similar illustrator or picture book author?

Benjamin Lopez Barba | 9 comments Excellent questions.

Yes it's a children's picture book and I would put it at around 35 pages.

The illustrations are very colorful and cartoony/zany. The illustrations have depth and are not simplistic line drawings.

Another illustration which I remember fuzzily: lots of bright pink bubble gum.

Benjamin Lopez Barba | 9 comments Neither of those is correct though the tone of "jumbo shrimp" - ridiculous ideas like that. That's what the book seems to be about.

Benjamin Lopez Barba | 9 comments And you're on the right track that the book doesn't have much plot. More of a list of impossible/improbable things like a dragon eating something too spicy.

Benjamin Lopez Barba | 9 comments Haha those sound hilarious. Again right tone (could definitely have something to do with idioms), but no luck.

The art style is closer to maybe the The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales

And if I absolutely had to say what the title might be it would be something along the lines of "The most Impossible/Spectacular Thing in the World."

But I don't want to lead someone down a rabbit hole with that guess because I have searched google endlessly and tirelessly and turned up nothing.

Benjamin Lopez Barba | 9 comments I FIGURED IT OUT!!

The words literally started pouring out of my head... the heaviest thing in the whole wide world is, the lightest thing in the world is, the HOTTEST THING IN THE WORLD IS A DRAGON EATING PIZZA!

The hardest thing to find in the world is... this book!
