I read this book about 2 years ago. I am pretty sure it was a kindle unlimited read. MC is a girl who is paid to find things or retrieve them for people. She teams up with her old partner and life long friend on a quest to get a flower from a dangerous part of the world that no one goes to. This is the first book in the series. I think there are three books total.

Spoilers Below:
She has been in love with her friend for a long time but he does not return her feelings. During their quest she meets a man who pretends to be her friend but tricks her and ends up being her competition for the flower. They eventually end up together later in the series.
