Kelly Brown | 371 comments I finished Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick and put it in for #4. I would love to be an actress and work in theater if I knew I would not fail. I think almost all of people who do it in real life wish this!
I have started Alex Trebek's The Answer Is…: Reflections on My Life. I am also still reading The Last Flight. I have to figure out my pages read for the last 2 days. I am slacking on keeping count. lol

Bana AZ (anabana_a) | 836 comments This is great, team! As of now we have answered 44 questions and read 13,507 pages for a total of 57 points earned!

Laurel will finish off the first round with hidden talent and then we can start the second round.

I'll add the second round of questions in the spreadsheet. So we won't confuse the rounds, I highlighted the first round's numbers in pink and the second round in green.

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 3266 comments I finished Yes No Maybe So this evening, and I've put it into the green section on the spreadsheet for something I consider myself very bad at. The main characters are doing door-to-door political canvassing, and one of them has to make a speech at a huge family event. Both public speaking and this kind of door-to-door sales/interaction are things I'm terrible at!

Thanks Ana! The spreadsheet looks great!

message 105: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments Great job everyone!

I read a whole 15 pages yesterday. I'll try and pick up the pace today!

message 106: by Kellie Lyn (new)

Kellie Lyn | 211 comments Good morning...I finished Good Enough last night and put it in the second round #20 What is something you think is beautiful? I love classical music and think it is beautiful when someone can play it well. On to reading, The Kill Artist and should finish tomorrow.

Kathy E | 3308 comments I'm working on Round 2 Prompt 3, When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Detective

The Nine Tailors by Dorothy Sayers

EDIT: Finished this. Added to spreadsheet

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 3266 comments I'm currently reading Frankly in Love, but definitely won't be finishing it today!

message 110: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Brown | 371 comments Just checking in! I had a busy day, but I got a lot of listening in. I will add those pages in to whatever I can manage to read tonight. I will hopefully get both of these books completed by the end of the read a thon. Everyone is doing great!! Keep up the awesome reading!

Bana AZ (anabana_a) | 836 comments I just finished Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata for question 27: What is something you would want with you on a desert island? A convenience store

The book is really good. It's a quick short read too.

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11184 comments Mod
I got a ton of listening in yesterday, between an hour run and listening while I was painting some nightstands. Definitely helped my page count for the week! I also managed to listen to the new Taylor Swift album on repeat 7 times, so apparently my ears were in for a treat yesterday haha

message 113: by Jo (new)

Jo Morton | 39 comments FINISHED On Ocean Blvd last night ! Going to read Home before Dark for the prompt what color looks good on you mine is Green.

message 114: by Kellie Lyn (new)

Kellie Lyn | 211 comments Finished Her Kind of Case: A Lee Isaacs, Esq. Novel and put it in the #33 slot. I always that being a lawyer would be interesting but would hate to be a criminal defense attorney. I just do not have that killer instinct in me. Hope to finish Feint of Art before the weekend is over.

message 115: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3308 comments I finished Long Life: Essays and Other Writings by Mary Oliver which I added for #21 What is one thing you do to get motivated? Read poetry or essays by people I admire.

Guys! Guys! I finished a book! It was awful (2 stars) but it's over and done and dead. Bless.

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 3266 comments I finished Frankly in Love, and I've put it down for the best part of the county fair question because my favourite part is the snacks, and the characters in this book go to a Korean fair where there are lots of great snacks, and also an ice cream exhibit.

I've also started Summer of Salt, which I'm hoping to finish off tomorrow.

message 118: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Brown | 371 comments Good Morning! I am hoping to finish both of my books today! I only have 40 pages left in one book, and 1 left in my audio. Both easily attainable today. I am sad today is the last day.

message 119: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3308 comments I finished Eight Perfect Murders and added it for #38 A genie shows up, what do you wish for? Mystery books, particularly Agatha Christie.
The eight perfect murders in the book are based on murders that took place in mystery books, like Double Indemnity and The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.

message 120: by Kellie Lyn (new)

Kellie Lyn | 211 comments Finsihed Feint of Art and put it in the #17 spot. A nice museum/high art cozy mystery. The main character has to go to a high end gala at the museum. I am not a party person, much less a gala person.

message 121: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3308 comments Finished Moonstruck, Vol. 1: Magic to Brew a graphic novel by Grace Ellis and Shae Beagle. Added for #5 What was your favorite Halloween costume? Ghost! The book had a ghost character.

message 122: by Kellie Lyn (new)

Kellie Lyn | 211 comments So I finished Crenshaw, it is a upper elementary school book. I read it to see if it would be a good book for my 10 year old nephew. It is a great book and deals with some very difficult topics. I think it will be perfect for him and his mom to read together. Since it is a rather simple book, I was just going to count the pages but Crenshaw seems like a great name for a boat. I am not sure if it should count since it is so simple but it has 257pgs. If it is not acceptable let me know. On to reading an adult book now...I am finally getting to The Kill Artist by Daniel Silva.

message 123: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3308 comments I'd say 257pgs counts!

message 124: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3308 comments I'm done reading for the Readathon. It was fun reading with all of you!

message 125: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Brown | 371 comments I have finished my books! (I have started a new audio already too.)

I have placed The Last Flight in #39 the phobia prompt. It has a plane crash in it, and I have a fear of falling, and then dying. It also has 2 no win situations in it for the two major characters, and I mean life altering no win situations, and that is a phobia of mine too.

I placed The Answer is...in #8 favorite tv show. I love Jeopardy. I know at one point in my life I was obsessed.

I have to now pick out the next book to read. It has been a wonderful week reading with all of you!

message 126: by Bana AZ (new)

Bana AZ (anabana_a) | 836 comments Is it still Sunday for some of you? I wasn't able to finish one more book like I planned, but 4 books for the read-a-thon is pretty good. And I had so much fun!

Here's an update on our points
Total Points Earned: 88
- Total Books Read (1 pt per book): 64 (45+19) Books
- Total Pages Read (1 pt per 1000 pages): 20,232 Pages
- 4 Wild Cards

We could still add to our daily page counts. :)

message 127: by Laurel (new)

Laurel Kristick | 874 comments I finished one more book. I’ll update my total for the week.

Nice one, Laurel. You're definitely the team's carry.

message 129: by Rachel (new)

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 3266 comments I finished off Summer of Salt today, and I put it down for something that I hate but I'd love to do because the characters ride a couple of boats in the middle of the story. I hate boats of any kind.

message 130: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments I finally finished Artemis. I used it for prompt #41 What is the best gift you've ever been given. I always give a list of books that I want. While I was reading Artemis, I found the gift receipt in the book from my mother in law from Christmas. I had forgotten that she gave me that book. I'm unfortunately a pretty picky person so for me it is better to give out a list of books that I want instead of receiving other gifts.

I filled in my page count as well. Unfortunately I didn't break 1,000 pages. With going on vacation the end of the week got a little crazy for me with work. And while on vacation I'm having my bathrooms redone so I had to get all the supplies for the contractor before I left.

It was fun doing the read-a-thon though!
