This theme sounds good.

This theme sounds good.
Everything is soooo confusing! Even after reading the rules, everything is still WEEEEEEEEEEEEE (a tornado). I do not know where to ask this so I will ask here: Can I create my own writing challenge or is that something mods can only do? I have a writing challenge that I want to post here.
Bringing back this topic from ye olden days! We used have some awesome challenges back in the day and now that we have new members interested in writing, I figure why not bring back up some challenges to sharpen our writing and story skills. :-) Don't be shy. We are all here to enjoy reading and writing some great IR stories.
So, with that said, I'd like to open up the floor to everyone. What writing challenge theme would we like to tackle for this round? L'Poni, if you are still here posting and reading in the group, please come on down and join us! Arch & Danielle, you too!

What are the rules? Are we doing short stories? Flash fiction and posting it? Photo prompts? I was in one GR group that does photo prompts and then you get one week to write 100 words.
Here are the rules: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Your fiction can be as long or short as you like. Although I like the idea of photo prompts, we may keep this first one to just a theme (i.e. kick butt heroines, marriage of convenience, dangerous heroes, stuff like that) and then vary it up for later ones. :-)
Any particular themes you guys would like to tackle?

Black Woman/First Nations man still seems good. Heroine or Hero with disabilities. (Full disclosure thinking about this anyway)
World War II, postwar setting; Bollywood/Nollywood or any non-Hollywood movie industry; puppeteers and/ circus performers; virus/plague threatens world

Alt subcultures. I want to read/write about goths, skaters, punks, metalheads, anime/computer geeks, etc. Oh and surfers.
Okay we got an ongoing poll here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
If you still have an idea for a theme, feel free to post it and I'll add it on to the list.
Anyone who wants to join in on the challenge, keep em coming. :-)

Hmm looking at the list, I don't want to overwhelm folk so we'll probably roll new theme ideas into the next round. :-D I'll leave up the current picks and let the poll close until the 31st. Please everyone vote by then and then we can hop into the challenge on the 1st. :-)
Great ideas, guys!
Great ideas, guys!
