Sam wrote: "And my first one is down with Wool with a grand total of 563 pages :-)"I loved Wool! Are you going to read the next one, Shift? It was really good, too. In fact my hubby read Shift without knowing that Wool was the first one but the two are separate from each other enough to make this not a problem.
Read The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver
It has 506 pages but could have fit so many categories, it was hard to decide where to put it - historical fiction, foreign setting (finished that category), prize winner.
Hopefully I don't regret putting it here.

If you decide later that you want to swap it to another category, let me know.
My 2nd one in this category is A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. I read the paperback edition which was 834 pages. Even with the variety of characters, I was surprised at how quickly I got drawn in to the struggles.
Finished another heavy tome - the 561-page Leviathan Wakes. Well worth the time, effort and cramped fingers. *Note to self - Kindle is probably the way to go for these big books.

Absolutely, which is why, after reading your glowing review, I ordered this as an ebook, got it on sale for around $5!
Woo-hoo!
Melki wrote: "Hope you like it, Stephanie. Otherwise, I'll feel really, really guilty."If I don't like it, my hubby who LOVES space operas will enjoy it, so money well spent either way!
Man, you guys are impressive. I'm doing well to finish books of under 200 pages just now. Though I have been finishing a lot of them.
Rebecca wrote: "Man, you guys are impressive. I'm doing well to finish books of under 200 pages just now. Though I have been finishing a lot of them."So many of the books I've been reading this year are just under the requirement - 475 - 492 pages. It's frustrating, but I shall persevere.
My first for this category: The Guns at Last Light: The War in Western Europe, 1944-1945 by Rick Atkinson. Excellent read and a great conclusion to Atkinson's Liberation Trilogy.
My third one in this category is The Iliad by Homer. It has been on my TBR shelf for several years and I am glad I finally read it. It is 614 pages.
New kitten-squisher (though since I read it on Kindle...). I didn't realize how long when I started, but GR lists the Kindle as 530 pages.Roughing It
4th one done: A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin. At 969 pages it was one of the longest ones I've read in a while.
Not sure if it counts, since it was an audio book, but at least some of the print editions were over 500 pages:Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption

I'll take it... Finger crushers are hard to come by.
Thanks! It was a gripping read (or listen), though I felt a bit cheated at the end because he (and the narrative) went all religious on us.

. Whew! I think that is number five for me."Yes, that was number five, well done!!!
