Jan 2015 - What Did You Read for the Challenge?

Hello everyone!

Here you can discuss and/or review the books you read for the reading challenge you drew for January 2015.

My Reading Challenge was "Read a book that has won an award", and I read 'Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry" by Mildred Taylor, which had won a Newbery Medal. :) So that's my challenge completed for the month!

I drew "Read a book that someone else picks", and my friend picked White Space by Ilsa J. Bick. I couldn't finish it. I don't think I even read a third of it. It dragged and dragged...
I'm so disappointed.

I understand how it feels to read a book that drags... It just won't get interesting! Luckily, that hasn't happened to me many times. What was the book about anyway?
